Anyone saw the movie "Into the Wild"? it was an absolutely wonderful movie, one of 2007's best movies (it has also received 2 Oscar nominations). Anyway, director Sean Penn (actor from "I Am Sam" and "Mystic River") has mentioned in an interview that he had "Miles From Nowhere" in mind to be used in the movie's final scene (the movie talks about a guy who leaves his family to live in the mountains. Thus, the song perfectlly fits the movie). However, since Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) had already been recording the soundtrack for the whole movie, Penn ended up using an Eddie Vedder song for the ending scene. This is the first I heard of the Cat Stevens connection. It would have been nice, but don't get to upset. Eddie Vedder did a fabulous job with the soundtrack. hmm, for me, I'm not quite so sure if Miles from Nowhere would have been appropriate for the finale death scene.
Wonderful Movie!
