ONE MORE REQUEST: IF you are able to do so WITHOUT violating their PRIVACY could you PLEASE get a pic of Majid and Hasana opening their 1st Anniversary wedding Present(maybe just a pic of their HANDS opening and holding the gift)? I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH for agreeing to personally bring them this gift! ;D I sure do hope they LIKE IT(it is a completely hand-made Navajo vase, signed on the bottom of the vessel by the WHOLE FAMILY who created it)! Vivian, I have a few things I'd like you to take along as well -- I hope it doesn't weigh you down too much. A couple of books, a sketch or two, and the bumper sticker proceeds. Oh, yeah, I forgot one thing, Vivian. Shirley reminded me I still have those Numbers cake decorations (that she so lovingly crafted) from last July's Catfest. You know, the little Numbers guys, the castle... even YOU dispensing Banapple Gas from the vending cart. How about we give them to Yusuf as a keepsake from the birthday party he missed? And I do believe they still have a bit of cake aroma on them! Hilarious! Thanks for reminding me, Shirley! I'll send them on to you, Vivian. ;D |

Hey Lucy, does anyone have the video footage from the Catfest last summer? Vivian can carry that to Yusuf when she goes. She can also smuggle me in her suitcase and I can pretend like I am suffering from delirium when I come out of the suitcase. Wait a minute, scrap that idea. I am always delirious so Yusuf wouldn't by my insanity pleas.

Sorry, A'isha, can't get the video footage to him yet... unfortunately I'm having technical difficulty getting it converted right now. Maybe we can get it to him by his next birthday. I think PK has video of the party too... I do still have his " 5" and " 3" candles... you think it'd be overkill if Vivian took those to him as souvenirs from the party he missed? They're partly burned and everything (adds a nice realistic "artifact" touch). I also have pix of the cake she can take along.... the cake that caused me so much embarrassment... Remember my story? To recap: -- Bakery girl: "Uh, is 'Yusuf' a girl's name?" Me (trying to stall): "What?" Bakery girl: (not realizing what she's about to hear) "Is this for a girl?" Me: (thinking oh, no... how can I get out of this one... clearing my throat and taking a deep breath...) "No, it's for Cat Stevens... Remember him?" Bakery girl (incredulous look, with eyes like lollipops), then: "Oh, yeah... I REMEMBER all right." (making me feel like a nutcase) Me: "Yeah, really" I say, trying to justify my bizarre cake order. "We're having a party for him... um... and he even knows about it." (a stretch) Bakery girl: "You're KIDDING." (eyes peering condescendingly yet incredulously at me like I'm totally nuts, but also betraying a slight sense of "I'm JEALOUS! REALLY?  ?") Then as I head out the door, I hear her yelling after me, "CAT STEVENS, huh??" I've avoided that bakery counter ever since... (I bet she was a Cat fan) |

Viv, could you possibly make time for [glow=red,2,300]one more stop[/glow]while in London? My friend Petey says he knows the guy who records ALL of Yusuf's M.O.L. recordings! Hey there Vivian,
I know you are busy printing out messages for Yusuf. I just had a thought as a possible addition to your book. There was a really nice thread started by sweetbluelove called (I think) "who saw Cat live" Alot of people wrote about concert memories. That might be nice. I've many times wondered if he really realised how much the fans appreciated his performances. And how good he really was. Of course, he could always read the reviews...but the fan's perspective is so different and so much more important!! It kind of gave me a warm glow reading that stuff.
Anyway...just an 'eleventh hour' thought. What do you
think. Too much work...probably (?)

Well Jen,
That is a GREAT IDEA, but I am out of room! The book is already OVER FILLED TO THE HILT! It has over 125 pages covering four different forums, including MAJICAT'S ENTIRE GREETING CARD, plus all the birthday messages that Christine still had saved! If I can make room, I will add them, otherwise, maybe we can print them out and send them to him for his birthday or something like that!

Wow Vivien...I had no idea how much material you were printing out from all the sites. I thought it was only 2 or 3 small threads. You are very sweet for doing all this work. Quite the labor of love. It must be quite time consumming. Hey next time, if we should be so fortunate, maybe we can make it more of a group effort. I wouldn't have minded, for example, doing some of the printing or donating some of the supplies. Take care Vivian and get some rest!! What cds are you taking with you? Hey, this time you've gotta make a choice...you really can't take them all (can you ?) |

He's gonna have a lot of reading to do... I hope he enjoys it. Reads a little now... saves some for later... reads a little bit... saves some for later... oh, he's probably so used to getting these types of things. I hope we've made it interesting....
But I do thank you.... (I'm sure it's not a very onerous task, though... ha ha ;D .... to have to deliver all these gifts and letter to Yusuf...) ;D

And it keeps getting BIGGER AND BIGGER! People keep posting messages! I am trying to CRAM as much as I can into the binder, but it is getting VERY DIFFICULT! But, as you said, it is a WONDERFUL LABOR OF LOVE!
