On a lighter note, I love the new website features. Love that pix with Rowan Atkinson and well, other stuff at well. It's a little thin as far as content goes, but hey, it's not Majicat.com after all. However, I am not too crazy about recycled stuff from cs.com -- I hope it won't become common practice. And I do hope that the message board there will be "moderated", really "moderated" and not invaded by apostles of (pseudo) free speech without responsability. Oh ABSOLUTELY. Peace,Vivian

Takes a big man to admit he regrets some of this stuff and well, he just climbed a few more steps on my admiration scale. He has obviously evolved as a human being like most men and women do. And concurring with the late Zaki Badawi, I'm glad he is much more grounded now and has taken his distances from radicals. Well, maybe Yusuf noticed our topic / discussion here about "Hyphoteticals issue" some months ago ... I was unhappy when saw H. on YouTube... but now, with his explanations... and regretings... we can close this topic... Yusuf explanation was the part which was missing for a long time, and I am happy that he finally explain this issue. Tnx Yusuf!

Well said, Glaucus. I totally agree. Yusuf's newer statements heartwarmingly melt away some of the chill maybe some of the fans have felt all these years. All's well that ends well. I'm sure he had his reasons at the time for being a little stubborn about admitting these things. He certainly had some loyalties, but possibly (more likely) some real pressures. If the latter is true (as I suspect) it's good to see him able to speak more freely now and relax more into the loveable guy we once knew. I'm feeling very optimistic about the new site and our relationship with Yusuf as fans. I remember a loooong time ago asking "does he love us as much as we love him?" I still ask that.

Hey there everyone! I thought I'd pass on the news to all here that the Peace Train section in the Redroom IS alive and working it's just the link that isn't. So, all you need to do (once you've logged in and gone to the redroom), is type peacetrain in the url so that it looks like this: www.yusufislam.com/peacetrain/John Gibbons (from catstevens.com) has already said hello there. There's not much happening yet, due I think to the fact that the link hasn't been working, but once the news spreads, it should light up! I think it needs all majicatters to get on board - so, find the platform and get on the Peace Train! Peace and care, Jonathan.

Does anyone else find the black background on Yusuf site hard to read? or is it just me? Yes, I find it difficult as well, but I use a laptop and thought that the smaller screen was the issue. Perhaps we can politely remind him that many (most?) of us are 40+ and our eyesight is not what it used to be? Sad but true...as I reach for my reading glasses...LOL! Jane

I really like the new site but I wonder why in the tvision section the clips are so short, I really wanted to see the whole interview from 1974 but there is only one minute or so of it...Yusuf why?

Jane. I was wearing my reading glasses. Could it be that Yusuf has forgotten that we have aged right along with him? Maybe we can influence him to make some changes?

May be we all rushed to get on board, and it shut down as it wasn't actually ready in the first place. Well, all we can do now is to wait , and explore the new site in depth, or there is always the Majicat site to visit. By the looks of things, I think everyone is busy exploring YI's new site. I myself keep going back and forth to both sites. It's hard to forget some habits. ;D

I bet you're right, Vicki. I never even thought that the fact we had to "sneak" into it meant it wasn't ready. What - us too anxious? ;D I guess Jonathan was too clever, leaving the web administrators thinking "we've been outsmarted by the fans!" LOL! I hope we can exercise the patience necessary until it is up and running. I am sure it will be worth the wait. Jane

I may be a little slow on the uptake - and you may have figured this out already - but I just now figured out that you can click on certain things in the Redroom - in the actual picture. If you click on the cup in the middle it takes you to Yusuf's Cafe which is, unfortunately, "coming soon".
Any ideas or guesses as to what that might be?

Hi everyone
Juliette again. I still have problems getting in to the new site. I have already registered and I know my password is correct but still I can't get into the redroom even though I type in my details.
Anybody got any clues what I can try next.
Many thanks
Juliette

Many thanks Juliette Hi Juliette - I am not tech-savvy by any stretch of the imagination, but this must be frustrating for you since last week you thought the problem was solved. Try contacting the webmaster through the "About" link. Maybe they can help you. It certainly can't hurt, right? Good luck! Jane

I must say, the violin solo studio clip in TVision is one of my favorite tidbits on the new site. For one, it's a beautiful, touching recording. For another, how long has it been that some of us have waited to see (hear) Yusuf's music reunited with actual musical instruments? Quite poignant to me ... when I remember the stark, stern days of percussion and vocal ALONE. Groovy to see Yusuf groovin' along to the solo at the mixing desk, and being so involved. Nice. Very "in his element" again. Happy days! I really appreciate all the glimpses and tidbits into Yusuf's artistry and daily life. It's bringing me back into "the fold".

...and... the violin probably being the ultimate symbol of giving up that starkness... it being both a stringed instrument and one of the most ornamental ones at that! It also hearkens back to the days of Del Newman's arranging and Paul Samwell-Smith's production.

First I had this trouble, too. Now it works, but I don't know why. I re-registered with another mail and then it worked. It must be a mistake on the site.
