The vid brought some interesting sides to people on here.
One appreciate the story about Cat past.
Others commented on how Patti did not age well.
some were offended she came out with this story.Not realising this is her story too.Yet some how impinge on Yusuf.
The worse was the Muslim Morality Brigade.lol..some of there comments.

Yeah, it was posted before, so I won't watch it again. What I didn't like about it was some not so nice things said about-NOT Cat, but Yusuf! It showed disrespect for who Yusuf is today, not only of who Cat was Yesterday. Christine agreeed and removed the link.

I thought they were probably cute together when they were young!
We were ALL young once!
It was the sixties! Falling love on an amusement park ride. Those were the days.....
And I don't think either of them has any regrets.

Yes, he was and still is only human, meaning he might be offended by her too personal, detailed account of their relationship. A relationship I feel he took very seriously, to be exposed in such a manner. I think such details should be kept to ones self in fond memories. He expressed the end of his relationship with her in the most beautiful and respectful way. Very few woman can say they had such meaningful and unforgettable songs written for them. I think she has very little respect for herself and very bitter.
How many women on this site would go into such detail about past relationships, and share them with complete strangers.

Just watched the Patti Darbanville video. I know we were all young once but its not on to 'kiss and tell". She might have thought it funny but I dont think Yusuf and his family would think that.
I read another interview Patti D'arbanville had with Bob Colacello and she came across as a very callous person.
P.S. Can you believe I actually got stuck in a phone booth with Paul and Barry Ryan in the 60s. We were sheltering from the rain in Manchester and couldnt get out. It was hilarious as we were wearing these fake fur coats and apparently from the outside we looked like one big bunny.

I was up late last night with the dratted insomnia again. Stumbled upon this video. Yuck, you know? How crass.
One thing I keep thinking about . . . I know this was the 70s and all, but she was 14 and he was 21. And especially given what she said in the video, doesn't that make him sort of . . . oh, I dunno, dare I say it? a pedophile?
I really could have lived without knowing this.

I really could have lived without knowing this. There are many people of legal age who have relationships with those who are not, but that doesn’t make them a pedophile. We all know how young girls can make themselves look much older (I’m sure we all did when we were that age, right?) A pedophile is someone who is only sexually attracted to young children and usually acts on those attractions; they have a true mental illness. 14 is actually a bit old for most pedophiles, and trying to look older would ruin the attraction in many cases. The other thing to remember is that not every country has the same laws as the US. In many countries it is acceptable and legal for “older” men to have relationships with younger girls. |

According to Wikipedia she was born in 1951 and they dated from 1968-1970, so she'd have been say 17-19 and Cat would have been 20-22. I think that would be legal almost everywhere.

All I can say is, if I did some role playing with Cat in the 60's (or anytime) I would be talking about it. I actually though it was kind of sweet, you can see the real feelings there.--- Maybe I shouldn't say anything??
