I only heard about this yesterday, but there is an anti-war concert in London tonight (16th) . It's called 'ONE BIG NO' and is at Shepard's Bush Empire' theatre.
Names confirmed so far are Evan Dando ( ex-Lemonheads), Paul Weller ( ex- Jam) , Ian McCulloch ( Echo & the Bunnymen), Garbage, Beth Orton, and Faithless.
Now I can't confirm this, but I was pretty sure I heard on the radio that Yusuf may make some contribution via video, I wasn't paying too much attention but my ears purked up when I thought I heard his name mentioned.
I could be wrong, but with the recent new anti-war songs of Yusuf's, it is the kind of occassion I think he might make some kind of statement. There are details on the protest gig at this link..http://www.nme.com/news/104411.htm
..and in other news about the gig there is mention of recorded messages from David Gray, and also from Badly Drawn Boy being part of the show, so this may be the way Yusuf might possibly contribute.
I'll see if there's anything on the TV News later, and let you know.

This seems like even more of a possibility after reading this link.. entertainment.iafrica.com/news/218772.htm...where it mentions Yusuf's South African session was filmed.

Thanks DJ for the update on this. Sounds in fact that Yusuf may be contributing to it. It would be nice to be at the Big No Concert to hear Peace Train played on the loud speakers!

This is the report about the 'One big no' concert in London, www.nme.com/news/104487.htm...obviously Yusuf didn't contibute after all, but it sounded like a great gig anyway. Michael Moore was there, and made an apology about GWB. If you'd like to read a message to Bush from Michael here's a link to his site... www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php...or for rather worrying words of wisdom from GWB himself take a look at... www.bushisms.com/index1a.html#List(... and these from the man in charge of the world's future.)

Thanks for mentioning the link, Chris, it sounds like I wasn't just hearing things on the radio after all ,Yusuf did show the Peace Train video at the 'One Big No' concert. I wonder if he included 'Angel of War' too on his video slot? I hope they do a TV or radio broadcast of the whole London concert eventually, I'm sure it must have been recorded.

Do you think they will start running Yusuf's videos on VH1? I hope so, but I have a feeling that our government may object since the songs are for peace and in protest for the war. They don't like to hear much objection to the war.

That can't be so. If our president were blood thirsty, then he wouldn't tell the soldiers to drop their weapons and turn themselves in. They will probably be fed better being a pow than fighting for Sad. H. I surely don't want to go to war, but I don't think that our president wants to see anyone die needlessly. I do want Sad. H. out of commission because of his atrocity that he committed to his own people. He does not care about them. They need a leader who wants to help feed them the build up their lives. I want their lives to find fulfillment and worth again. It is devastating to live where the ruler overpowers everyone else for his own selfish sickening pleasure. How can anyone mercilessly kill his people as if they were insignificant specks of a life? I do want that to stop. There is a time for all things, and unfortunately, we have to choose the lesser of two evils. It would be worse to let this horrible monster keep hurting his people. How can they live in security and peace under his rule? That would absolutely suck out my will to live if I had to live under those conditions. I'm not for war, mind you, but I hope and pray that no one gets killed that is fighting for the good of the people. Let there be no innocent blood shed. God protect them under Your care. Let this be over with as quickly as possible and with minimum damage. Our soldiers are our people. They were brought up just like you. They don't want to die and they don't want to kill. Let's not paint them with a bloody image.
I just want this whole thing to dissolve and improve for the betterment of all people. We have to keep praying and hoping.
God be with us and bring us peace. Faithfullight
