I've been racking my brain out trying to decipher Cat's original Island vinyl albums (working on UK releases right now) and how to know which ones were truly the very first original issues. I just can not find the definitive discography with highly detailed information and pictures. I found a book about the history of Island Records record labels and which ones are rare based on certain time periods. Right now there's 2 different Teaser UK albums for sale, each claiming to be original Sterling Studios pressings but the labels are slightly different. Anybody out there really knowledgeable about the variations? I was lucky to find the very first pressing of Mona with the handwritten lyric inner sleeve and think I'm on the trail of the very first Tillerman UK vinyl. But it's all so confusing, especially since millions of his albums got printed and reprinted. There's slight variations floating around! And let's not even talk about the issues from different countries! I do love hunting for these in close to mint condition... as long as I know what I'm hunting for! ???Thanks! ;D
