I recieved a letter from a friend of mine who lives around the Dartmoor area of England, mentioned he heard the new Peace Train played on BBC 2 earlier this morning. This is his quote from his letter today.
catnappers Quote: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It might please you to know radio 2 played the new peace train song, first time I have heard it being on the radio.[this morning] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know Aisha, it is nice to see that Peace Train was aired today. In fact to read more information on the airing of this song on BBC Radio 2's 'Good Morning Sunday' show earlier today, read the 'News In Brief ' on Yusuf Islams website. It'll also point you where to re-listen to the broadcast of the song on the BBCRadio 2 website. www.yusufislam.org.uk/newsinbrief.shtml

I missed it, but what fantastic news! My faith in the British media has been restored! I can hardly wait to hear the next track, I'm guessing it's with the same set of singers as 'Peace train', so it will be superb.

I felt so proud for Yusuf to hear his song on the BBC Radio 2 program! I was beaming to hear it play! They incorporated his song so well into the program too. They were talking about opening cathedrals, mosques, etc. to share faiths and they said that it went quite well. One way or another, we are being guided to come together in harmony. It was so nice to hear that the two faiths of Judaism and Islam came together on the radio show and they shook hands, smiling. It's the actions of the extremists in each of the religions that cause division and hatred. When anyone comes across an extremist, it would be honorable to stop them from spreading hate and bigotry. We need to teach them to love one another, they're not getting the message clearly. We can get along! It is they who stir up the problems and keep us from obtaining peace. Peace, Faithfullight

Amen to Faithful's last paragraph. I have been saying that for a long time myself, but many refuse to listen.
I have been watching VH1 in the mornings to see if they may have "Peace Train" on it or news about it. They seem to be avoiding the topic altogether. They talked this morning about a peace song by System Of A Down, which had some humorous caricatures of Bush in it. I haven't seen the video, just clips from it. But it appears that it may actually be making fun of George Bush in some places. But they are talking about it on the VH1 News. They run most of their news on their "Jump Start" program each day. Why, when the System Of A Down's video has jokes about Bush in it, it gets promotion, but Yusuf's venture is not even spoken about? I hope that Yusuf's songs aren't boycotted over here. I see absolutely no disrespect to anyone in "Peace Train", not disrespect to America or to Iraq in it. It just seems strange.
Oh yes, I like System Of A Down...
Love, A'isha

You're right A'isha. Yusuf's Peace Train song is not disrespectful to anyone. He's just voicing his opinion to see peace, as we all want peace. So where is Yusuf's songs on the radio! Like I said, I don't listen to the radio any more, but I would like for others to hear his beautiful soothing voice. I love the interchanging between him singing and him speaking softly. So sweet! I just eat it up! I was disappointed that the BBC Radio 2 cut his song short and didn't play his soft voice speaking. But, at least his message was heard.

You know, Faithful, when they cut the song short people don't get to hear the most vital part of the song. The sad emotion of Yusuf's voice whispering, "Come take me home again", to me, conveys the anguish and sadness of what war really does. When you hear Yusuf say, "Come take me home again" you feel empathy and sadness, something that every person should feel right now. That part of the song makes a person feel and feeling is part of what makes people desire peace.

The song wasn't cut short. That is the version that is being sent to radio stations. You must be kidding! Oh my! They can't hear Yusuf's sweet feeling of empathy and sadness in his voice! I love that part! He sounds so concerned. Sue, where did you learn that? Faithfullight
