There is a new page over on Yusuf's website for us to send in whatever story has been some kind of inspiration to us! A couple of stories will be published a week! I think this is a great idea, focusing on positive things for a change! I just submitted an entry of my own!

Yes, Vivian I saw this tonight too. What a great idea! It's nice that they're making the site a bit more interactive. I feel like I've just been given an assignment from Yusuf

I haven't written yet Yukas. I have a few manuscripts but they are all more than 500 words. I will have to get to writing.
I look forward to reading your contribution.

Yukas, I sent them an essay yesterday and they got back to me quickly. It turns out my essay is 800 words long rather than 500 so I have to edit some stuff out, but they said if I do that they will use it. Did you know that Wordperfect Suite 8, (which I love using) has no wordcount feature. I looked and looked for it. So I will convert the file to something compatible with Microsoft Works and see if I can make the thing shorter....LOLOLOL Life is such a learning experience you know. Love, A'isha

And NO, THIS one is not about Yusuf, although, I am working on one that will be about him! This was about the time when, back in the early 90s, when Hairy and I were living in San Fransisco, Hairy prevented a man from choking by using the heimlich Maneuver! Maybe they will post it! Peace,Vivian

Vivian, I look forward to reading your essay. Did you have any trouble with the length?
I got my 'condensed' and sent back to them. I had to rewrite some parts of it to convey the same message with less words. Mine is about my friend Barbara and how she dealt with the death of her son and how she pulled herself together.

No, I am sure mine is way under the 500 word length! I purposely kept it short for that reason! I can't wait to read everyone elses!

The problem about writing about Yusuf is it would be very difficult to keep the essay from exceeding 10,000 words. I could write a book on that subject. Love ya, A'isha

Kim, write about you conversion to Islam, or about your squirrels, or about a friend. They just want to hear good news, things that make people feel happy. The hardest part is keeping it within 500 words.

Well, I just sent my second essay, but I am afraid I went WELL OVER the 500 word limit! I MIGHT need help editing it down some! Anyway, this one was about the death of my neice, Holly, and how her eyes were donated, so that a blind person could have the gift of sight, and how Yusuf helped me come to terms with her death!

Viv, that sounds like an interesting story but I am sure that they will ask you to reduce the wordage. Just bring up Microsoft Works Word Processor, Bring up the document, and at the top of the screen where it says "TOOLS" click that and a window will drop down, then click Wordcount.

If several people have sent in stories for "Gotta get it out", then why haven't any of them been posted yet! It's been over 2 months since they announced this new addition to YusufIslam.org.uk. I've sent a few in as well so it doesn't seem likely that they are searching for material. What's holding this up? Hey, If they need more stories I have a lot more things to share if they ever get started posting.
I'm waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... and ....

Faithfullight Hi Faithfullight I'm sure Y.I. is working on it. Sometimes things happen that sidetrack you. Plus the man who runs Y.I. is a very busy man with his *real* career. Running Y.I. is just a sideline job for him. here is an example of procrastination: I had made plans to make a Fashion page or Shoe page showcasing all the different type of shoes and clothes Cat wore over the years. I started the page about 2 or 3 years ago, it's still on the site on a back page, hidden from view. But, I put it aside for a while forgetting about it, I still hope to finish the page someday when I have more time to work on it. I am sure the same is true with Y.I. "Gotta Get It Out" page. Maybe you should try sending Y.I. a note to see if they are still planning to place it up. I'm sure they will be happy to hear you are still interested in seeing "Gotta Get It Out" up on the site. Christine Thanks Christine for the info. I would like to see the different shoes and clothes Yusuf wore over the years. I was never given the opportunity to see him in person and pictures do not reveal the whole outfit. It would be neat to compare the different styles and stories behind them if there are any. I may send him another note soon, but I do not understand why he and his partners (employees, helpers, assistants, ?) are so mysteriously standoffish whenever I write to them. I have so many important things to share with Yusuf about life and religion and since he is personally involved with the education of children, I should think and hope that he would be interested in what I have to say, especially considering the consequences and miracles behind them! I would share those miracles on "Gotta Get It Out", if he would ever respond to me out of respect and decency. Not saying that Yusuf is a disrespectful person, as I know that he is extremely busy with much important work, but I am also a person who cares deeply about our world and I hope and pray that he realizes that my concern is only to help our world in peace and love and for all people to live in harmony. If Yusuf doesn't represent this, then I could understand why he ignores my messages, but his whole life has reflected interest to help mankind. I really get so frustrated that he doesn't at least send me a short note to acknowledge what I had said. I feel that this is really insulting and rude to me. This I do not understand about Yusuf if he truly is a caring, compassionate person. Faithfullight

Christine, I am happy to know that I am not the only procrastinator on the web...LOL I have been meaning to open a page at Peacetrain where people can send me their stories about how Cat has impacted their lives. It still hasn't been done yet...My life has been a rollercoaster ride for the last two yards and it is a job just keeping my domain registered...LOLOLOL
Faithful, don't be disheartened. Yusuf probably gets a fourth of the mail that is sent to him. He is all over the place. Once I got a letter from Imam where she explained to me about a rain problem flooding the desk and ruining a lot of letters and stuff. She could only read the address and P.S. of the letter...LOL I was requesting a copy of "Joseph's Surrender".... I am sure that Yusuf isn't purposely ignoring you. Let's hope not...
Love ya, A'isha

Love ya, A'isha It's a wonder that you received a letter from Iman that she couldn't read your letter! Wow! This communication problem with Yusuf is really bizarre. Would you think that it has something to do with the traditions of Islam culture? Surely he communicates with other people! It just boggles my mind that he has ignored me as though I do not exist. Gee, am I asking for that much from him? I just want a response! My heart really feels a lot of sadness just because he has ignored my letters that I had written about what I was shown in visions about him and about religion. As one human being to another, I really need his help because of the situation that happened to me. How can he have no feeling what-so-ever with what I shared with him about these visions. A'isha and Christine, thanks for your concern and words of encouragement. I am just hoping and praying for our world to find peace. Faithfullight

Faithful, I don't think Yusuf is purposely ignoring your letters. I think that much of his mail in intercepted and much of it may not reach him. Iman is no longer the secretary so I have no idea who is carrying on the dutie of secretary, but I know that one day Yusuf is in Africa and the next day he is in Kansas City. He seems to always be on the move.
Love ya, A'isha
