Hi all,
I just have a quick question about concert footage of Cat Stevens performing Peace Train. It seems that the only footage I can find of Cat performing this great song live is from the end of the Majicat tour of 1976(this is a very good version though) - despite how popular the song was- Yusuf has even said it was best done live, so one would assume there'd be more videos.
I can find multiple performances of Moonshadow, Father and Son and Wild World; but only one of Peace Train, does anybody know why this is?
And does anybody have any other clips of Cat performing this song back in the 70s other than at the Majicat concert?
I can find plenty of Yusuf performing it recently but I'd love to see some older footage.
Thanks,
Paul

Whilst I would have loved to see some fottage of peace these are certainly a treat! thankyou! That's what I initially thought, too, so I didn't even click on Jonathan's links. I'm so glad this came up again, because the songs from Jon are really great - especially for someone like me who hasn't heard them all from a live performance before. Thank you Jon and Paul. ~Sun~

It's my absolute pleasure Paul and Sun! Yes they're mp3 files - easy to play and just as easy to download. And I don't mind converting the files in order to share these wonderful concerts. And listening to Cat chatting with the audience is also a gem! "We're going to to a good song! I mean I've written some good songs but this is great!" lol Heh heh ;D - and what's more, he was right! If you or Sun or anyone hasn't been able to download or listen to the Moon & Star concert, let me know, I can upload that one too! Oh Paul! Just remembered! In and earlier thread you mentioned Alun Davies sounding like Dylan - I was wondering if that was due to the few songs here on Majicat? Because I took it for granted that you were referring to the whole album Daydo! In his earlier recordings I can hear what you mean! Happy thoughts folks! Take care Jon P.S. Sun! I love the super cute thankyou pic!

Yeah Jonathon I'm not sure which song it was I heard but I think it was from Sweet Thursday... Jenny Take me home? or something like that, his voice seems to have a Dylanesqe sound to me, it could just be me though. Yeah Jonathon if you could up load the Moon and Star concert that would be great actually- I'd love to hear it in full. It was great to hear some songs I'd never heard done live before, like "Sitting" and "Can't Keep it in." Thankyou!

Hi Paul, Daydo is well and truly worth hearing! A kind-hearted, generous member here sent me a copy - there are others too who deserve credit for their kind-heartedness - I'd mention their names in my posts, but seeming they've usually been done privately, I don't feel at liberty to do so. The same goes for audio files that I've obtained via such generosity. With their permission I'd be happy to share all I've received. Although, most of what I have, I HAVE shared because I've obtained the audio myself. Anyway, if you can get your hands on a copy, I highly recommend it! Here though, is the link to the Moon & Star concert: www.box.net/shared/h5g4hoa1jiI didn't include Moonshadow, seeming as it's only the cartoon version in audio format only and I'm pretty certain that most, if not all us fans have at least one copy of the Moonshadow cartoon! I'm assuming you have broadband? If you don't, 'Foreigner Suite' may give you problems. All the best Paul, P.S. Glad you liked the other lot of live songs you've not heard live before - 'Can't keep it in' is among one of those that I don't think were included often enough in his set-lists! Jon

Well thanks for uploading it for me Jonathon. Because at least now I can download them and have them forever myself! I'd actually seen most of these in video format on Youtube, but it is great to hear them again! I have especially enjoyed listening to Morning has Broken again!
If you have any other Audio rarities that you would feel comfortable sharing I'd love to hear them, I would love to hear them!
Like I'd love to hear some other clips of him doing "Ruins" because I just love than song- and also I'd love to hear him do "Tea for the Tillerman." But thank you for everything you have done so far, you've done me a great service!
I will make a serious effort to track down Daydo in full because I'd love to hear it.
