The Compilation album "The Very Best of Cat Stevens" (released in 2000.) went back to UK album chart, and took high position... landed at No 18 this week !!! (the highest position for this album after it has been published was No 6 in UK and No 58 in USA. And "Roadsinger" which was last week at No 84 this week climb up to No 54 !!! This is very good news. It could mean Yusuf has a new generation of followers after the release of 'Roadsinger', as most of his fans from way back, don't need to refresh their memories with 'The very best of Cat Stevens'.
Good to see you back also Jane.

I think we should all give this CD to those of the younger generation in our lives if they are not already fans. I plan to load up my niece's iPod with his music as she goes away to college in the fall. What better company can I give to her than his music?
Thanks Vicki - last week was a rough one, so now I try to log on to Majicat when I get a few minutes at work, or when I am on a long boring conference call! Sometimes someone asks me a question when I am reading posts and I have to pretend that there was a bad connection - "Oh, you cut out there for a minute - can you repeat the question?" Yikes!

Glad I'm not the only one , If one of my favorite tracks come on in my surgery "Cat is played on my I pod all day" I either polish to the beat or do hand scaling so no other noise interupts the song ,

Funny thing is - my brother went out and got "The Best Of Cat Stevens" on Friday and then knocked on my door to show me his purchase.
He used to have some of his vinyls years ago and I had been telling him about me going to Shepherds Bush and the BBC and saying how good Yusuf was.
I laughed when he showed me the cd and said "Well thats more money for Yusuf" Didn't dream the cd would get back in the charts. My brother has since played it and said it reminded him of me living at home years ago playing them, when he heard some of the songs again.

Oh it makes me feel sooo goood reading these stories. It's wonderful that his presence is being felt by the younger generation. Julliette, the young could do with a little guidance, especially now, from someone who has been trying to get across the message of peace and understanding for the past 40 years. His place was always waiting for him, as there was no one who could take his place. Soooo glad he found his way back home again. Won't let him get away this time. Jane and Michelle, I would give anything to be in the room with you, and watch you work. ;D

Yes, isnt it all wonderful. It was always just a matter of time until he came back but now he's back with avengeance. It must be such a wonderful feeling for him to have reached out and touched so many generations with his music and he's still doing it.
Peace Margi xx
