i'm trying to get an estimate of how many of us plan to attend, so that i can try and reserve a block of seats at the hall for 'majicatters' (and other sitegoers). its going to take some coordination on all our parts if we want to sit together, but inshaAllah the box office will be helpful. i'm not exactly sure how it will work, but having an estimated list of how many of us would be something good to start with! so far i know for certain joanne and i are going, lissette and jenn? anyone else definite? or close to definite?

Yes, you can count me Colleen. George posted on another thread that he is going as did HillsCouture. Hopefully they'll post something here and make it official. I think there are a few others in the "thinking about it stage" right now.

I WISH I can be included, but the timing is all wrong! If only this could have been in the Spring! Well, to all those who are going, have a blast, and I know you all have a good chance of meeting with Yusuf and the rest of the performers afterwards! So, please give Yusuf all our love! Peace,Vivian

Jen, do you have your passport yet? Do you know how long it takes? 6 weeks? That is cutting it pretty close?
Has anyone found any good deals on flights, that is what it really comes down to.

Hairy wouldn't be able to go now, anyway! His passport is expired, and there is not enough time to get it renewd(Hopefully by the Spring), so we can go then!

Christine I have a passport. I don't think it takes that long to get. I remember needing it on short notice when I initially applied for it (4 weeks). I also think there is a "fast track" application process...you pay more but get it faster. The postoffice will have the applications and details. There is also an office in NY where you can go in person and have it the same day. I know that doesn't help you much, but just thought I'd throw it in. I think if you are even thinking of going, you should get your passport...always good to have for these unexpected trips . I haven't found any really good deals on airfare. BUt NY to London isn't really a pricey ticket anyway....I've paid more getting to some US cities. I'll probably be paying about $350 for my ticket. Good luck Christine! -jen.

Thanks Jen, I have my passport, I went to Spain a few years back. I was just curious about the person(s), I may be going with. She doesn't have one.
I'll be coming from the midwest, most likely Pittsburgh Airport. I found a straight flight from Pitts for $468. But still searching. ;-) but they may get cheaper as fall approaches.

Chris, get your friend to hurry and apply to the passport. It can take up to six weeks to get it.

I wanna go. I have a passport and no place to take it! Passport, anyone? Boo, hoo, hoo.... My wheels are turning though. If I want this badly enough... maybe..... Just maybe............................ ............................................... (all this talk is getting me so excited!!) But I'd want to fly with someone. I've become a scaredy cat when it comes to planes. Probably 'coz I haven't been on one in a few years and I now have an irrational (but understandable) phobia from seeing all those plane crashes on the news. *Maybe* my husband will let me turn in my upcoming (soon-to-be-ditched) Pavlo concert for a YI concert. but hmmmmm............................ hmm, hmm, hmm..... SIGH.

I want to go too, that would be so amazing. Hmmm, the 20th is just five days after my birthday, so maybe it could be my present to myself ;D. I have always wanted to go to London, and this is pretty good reason to go in October. I wasn't alive to ever see Cat perform, so getting to see Yusuf Islam perform would be awesome. Oh, I'm getting so envious of ya'll who are going. If I can just keep trying to talk myself into it Alicia

I've been after Hairy to renew his passport! Hey, mine is good, and if he doesn't have his by spring, I am going to London without him! LOL! Of course, we are also waiting for his green card, but this isn't his fault! There is a back log at immigration of over 18 months! But if we have his passport, and proof that the green card is in the works, we won't have a problem!

Jen,
There's no WAY I can go. What was I thinking?
What, with the kids' school.... my husband in school -- starting in a very tough program ... and a very hectic schedule for us all (although it IS fall break week that week...). If it were just me and my work schedule that was the issue, I could easily work around that.
But ... there's just no way.
Not to mention the flufficity of it all. It's not like I'm going to a conference or on a business trip; then it might be justifiable to the family.
Sounds so fun though... flying out to NY to meet you and flying over with you.... just fun to think about!
How are you for arrangements/tickets, Jen? Getting things all figgered out?
- L.
THAT does it. YI HAS to come here. He has to. It's only fair.

Oh Lucy don't remind me of the flufficity of it all! I'm feeling more than a little guilty about this from a "mom" perspective. This is definately a first for me...never gone away (by myself) for anything non-business related.
But my husband's being really supportive so that makes it do-able.
No concrete plans as of yet.

I've just gotten off the phone with the RAH box office, and they say they have no information as yet. Something to do with waiting for the promoter to sign contracts & finalize arrangements.

Well, now I'm even more confused! After visiting the MoL website & seeing a message posted on the boards by the MoL Team stating that the tickets are on sale now, I checked the RAH website. Still nothing. So again I called them (can't wait to get this month's phone bill...lol). And this time they tell me that tickets for this event will be on sale September 1st. A full week from now. Man, someone somewhere has neglected to get all their ducks in a row on this one, I tell ya! -Joanne
