Here's a thread for all who are definitely going to the Night of Remembrance event, and may be interested in arranging to stay at the same hotel or buddy up in a room. I've been poking around the web a little today, and thought this seemed like a not-so-bad place to stay: dps1.travelocity.com/hotsdetail.ctl?ht_rr_key=HRN|||LON%20KEUR|Y|462 91|N|46291|ME125141012224|UI|USD|Oct|18|Oct|21|3|1|&ht_sabre_rr_key=&ht_mis c_key=91|7|Y||LHR|UI|46291|HRN&ht_pt_key=&ht_info_key=Kensington%20Rooms|13 1-137%20CROMWELL%20ROAD%20|London%20England%20Sw7%204du%20%20|ht_uilogo.gif |UI||LHR|20.0%20mi%20%2f%2032.2%20km&ht_pl_key=HRN|Oct|18|Oct|21|3|1|LON%20 KEUR|||46291|USD|ME125141012224||||||||&search_name=London%20Heathrow,%20UK &geo_cd=&last_pgd_page=hotslist.pgd&item_number=1&SEQ=106217834367317508292 003&LANG=EN&last_pgd_page=hotslist.pgd (Good Lord, that's a long link! lol) In case that link is screwy, the name of the property is the Kensington Rooms Hotel. A quick search on Google will get you a bunch of relevant results. Travelocity and other sites are offering single rooms for as low as $95/night. Anyone else have any other suggestions? -Joanne (And for anyone who may be experiencing a sense of deja vu: yes, I just posted the exact same thing at cs.com, as I am aware that some folks don't go to both sites.

Joanne, did you check out the link that Pyramus posted on cat.com (Harrington Hall Hotel)...sounds pretty nice. I may call them in the next day or two to find out about room rates.

I have stayed at the Scouts Association before, not as posh as an hotel, but clean with everything you need, plus its very close to the concert hall. Its £69 for a single room £40 each for twin bedded room £32 each in a family room which will sleep 4 You can view the rooms online at www.scoutbase.org.ukgo to the link for Headquarters, then scroll down the page to Baden Powell House ( you don't need to be a scout by the way)

Harrington Hall turns out to be more than I wish to spend. The Scouts is well within the budget. I like the fact that it includes some sort of breakfast. (I always need a little something when I wake up) Cristalina, do you know if there are phones in the rooms (my cell phone doesn't get service in Europe)? Hmmm...if they're not too stingy on the towels, it may be a possibilty Of course it would be even better if you could get a libation in the place Something tells me I'm gonna need one ... -jen.
