Beautiful, Sue!
Yet another solid version of the classic.
Thanks for finding this gem, and much applause to Chris Rego for doing the tune such justice.

Just played the cover of Father & Son by Chris Rego, but his version was good, but not as good as the original. I thought that Chris Rego's strumming sounded a little bit off key, no comparrison to Cat's own version, so when I played his, it sounded even better, when recorded at Wembley Stadium 30 years before he went religious to become a Muslim, and re-emerged in 2006, to record a new album and make music again.
I think Chris Rego did his best, but couldn't sing the low notes in the Father part, but he sang in all in the high notes. Great try!!

Tiffany, this is just a guy singing in a restaurant and somebody taped it and put it on youtube. Slack key guitar means they loosen the strings and do more open tunings, it's a style that evolved in Hawaii. He wasn't even trying to compete with a Cat Stevens recording. He was just singing the song in the middle of a set in a restaurant. These Austrian twins did a nice cover of Wild World when they were 13. Aren't they cute? Notice that twins have the BEST harmonies when they sing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_1gp8x3nCo

Great version by Austrain duo MonaLisa of the excellent song "Wild World. The harmony was brilliant, and their guitar picking was something else. It sounded better than the Chris Rego version, which somebody recorded.
Anyway, keep listening up, because I'm waiting in line to produce versions of Cat Stevens songs, which will lift your spirit.
