The movie The Boat That Rocked, which was released earlier this year in the UK features "Father and Son". The movie is about the pirate radio scene in the UK in the '60's. It's loosely based on Radio Caroline which was a pirate station on a ship that was anchored 3 miles outside of British waters. Radio Caroline helped shape the course of music in it's day. Even though Cat's song wasn't written in the time period of the movie, it was the best one for the scene according to the directors. In the US the movie was called Pirate Radio. It's on dvd now if anyone is interested. www.imdb.com/title/tt1131729/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Caroline

Your download must be a real gem. Very kind of you to share. I am having trouble downloading it though. Internet Explorer advises not to open the file. Is anyone else having a problem with this file.

Thanks Ladyd! I just listened to the MP3. How cool to hear young cat expressions of sorry upon hearing pirate radio leaving the air. Thanks again for sharing the mp3! Very COOL!

Thank you for the clip LadyD. Those were the good days of the pirate radio stations. They gave young people a different choice of music and a good start to their day.
Peace Margi

I watched "The boat that rocked"
I must say the only thing good in the film was the music.
The film was set in 1966 though I was only about 11 years old I do remember Radio Caroline. We all loved listening to the music.
But the film was quite boring

I definitely wanna see this film. Saw a trailer for it the first time on Vet's Day (on a rare day home from work!) .. and it made me look twice! Mighta missed it otherwise! Wish they'd kept the original title though; I like it better for some reason. Oh well. Thanks bookworm (and LadyD for that amazing treasure of a file) (which I've yet to try) -- from the few clips I've seen, the movie looks amazing enough for me to watch; if only for the rocking music.
