He seemed to be saying that Long and Winding Road was special to the Liverpool show, to honour the Beatles origins, but you never know. The song suited his style and voice so well. For an Arena concert, the atmosphere was really quite intimate, I wonder if those further away from the stage felt the same way? And the musical was fascinating, the sequence of songs told the story. I'd go see it! He did seem nervous about how it would be received, and proud that everyone seemed to enjoy it. He made us laugh when someone shouted something and he said he doesn't understand Scouse!(Liverpool accent for those who might not know) He'd tried to order two poached eggs on toast earlier in the day and received a "Wha?" (with Liverpool intonation) from the waitress. I can't remember much else of the banter, but maybe someone will remind me? Lighting and back screen effects were fabulous, and the audience was encouraged to clap and sing along. There were apologies for playing so many of the new songs: "When you've written something new, you want to play it", but they blended well with the oldies. And I only cried once!

Thank you Rosemary, it sounds like it was a great night! Looking at the video's posted, Yusuf, was really enjoying himself! So good to see!!! ;D He loved that the audience sang Moonshadow! Great job in listing the set list in the dark I really, really wish he would sing [shadow=slack,left,300]TWO FINE PEOPLE!!![/shadow] I'm sure I am not alone in this.

I've always loved "Hard-headed Woman" but I guess he found her? And "I never wanted to be a star", and "Child for a day". but the one I'd really love to hear is "Sweet Scarlet". In fact, I could keep him singing constantly for a week and still want more! ;D

Isn't it funny, how a few years ago, the only thing that really mattered to us, was, that Yusuf/Cat would return and make music. Now that he is back, we can't seem to get enough of him, and more is simply just not enough. I think we can be excused due to his many years of abscence, and he will understand. I feel we can all appreciate Yusufs need to sing and promote his new work, but I hope in concerts that will follow this mini tour, Yusuf will also have the need to sing more of his old songs. I guess it's hard to please everybody.

Great choices everybody! I too would love to hear "2 Fine People", but hey...I'm getting my "Tuesday's Dead" so I'm good! I do love a concert where there's a good mix of fast and slow songs...let's you dance, and then rest! Thanks for the videos! Fantastic describes it best! ;D Rosemary, it sounds like you had a wonderful night...YAY! ;D(but who wouldn't expect that? :

Jane, if you have checked the new videos from Liverpool, you better prepare yourself . It seems Yusuf is encouraging sing alongs, and is enjoying them. I hope it does not spoil your night, because you are going to witness a very different Yusuf. I would say more like the Cat we used to know. That should be well awarded compensation, don't you think? Just stay focused on Yusuf, and get lost in his music. ;D

My son this morning offered to take me to see Yusuf in Liverpool as there were still tickets for sale. How sweet of him. as it would have been over an 8 hour round trip.

I was especially touched when the audience screamed "I love you", Yusuf said in return, "You know what, I love you too". What a tear jerker moment!

What a perfect, loving, and thoughtful son you have Helen. He must have sensed that you wanted to go to Liverpool, and would have gone to any length to make his mother a very happy lady. Now I know why he is the sunshine of your life. You're a very lucky lady Helen.
