I'll be there, after driving the full length of the M62 from Hull. I plan to make an early start and spend the day exploring Liverpool (and drive back after the show- a long day, but that man is worth a bit of exhaustion!)

Well, that is two of us so far, Rosemary! I don't think I know you from any other Cat sites, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am, so far, also going on my own, so if we can arrange some kind of meet up, that would be good.
I appreciate that you probably won't just want to meet up with me, as a man, on your own, so hopefully, we'll get a few more people involved. I'm sure (well I hope) anyone here who knows me will tell you that I am not to be feared, but safety and security rules!!
Is Colleen still coming to Liverpool?

Hehe! Are you sure you'd be safe meeting me? I'll be in a state of high excitement! But yes, I take your point, it'd be good to meet up as a group. Come on folks, let us know who else will be there?

It has been a million years since we chatted. Seriously, whatever your issue is, I hope you get it sorted, and attend both gigs (especially Liverpool!!). Let us know if you are going to be heading north, I would love to meet you. I have spent a decade in the Cat/Yusuf 'community', and still not met anyone in 3d!

After seeing some of the Dublin videos, I really can't wait for Dec 5 now. Can't believe he played Bad Brakes! Great choice. Great set really - Don't Be Shy, Sitting, Lilywhite, Father and Son, Fill My Eyes...so many of my favourites.
By the way, I still have a ticket available for Liverpool if any real Cat fan is interested. Not too concerned about money, I'd probably let it go for nothing as long as I knew it was a real fan getting it. You'd have to sit next to me, though...

I'm now getting nervous about driving back to Hull straight after the show_ weather doesn't seem fantastic. Can anyone recommend any B&Bs or hotels reasonably priced and not too far away from the arena?

Plenty of places to stay Rosemary Im sure you'll be ok, try Premier Inn , Jurys Inn is right beside the Arena - could be a good vantage point for Yusuf spotting :-)

To be honest, as long as it doesn't get icy, I'll be fine driving home. And if I can't find a room, I'll stick a few blankets in the car. I'm not proud! And nothing will make me miss the concert!

The time is drawing near for tonight's show... I'm not quite sure why I didn't arrange to go to Liverpool as well; what was I (not) thinking?? Enjoy everyone! Royal Albert Hall is just a few days away! Jane

Just a brief reply- forgive me, it was an almost 3 hour drive home in pounding rain. Fantastic show, full of gentle humour and the guy can still ROCK! Set list scribbled in the dark so I'll see if I can make sense of what I wrote: Lilywhite The Wind Where do the Children Play? Thinking about you Boots and Sand Welcome Home Oh Very Young Sitting Glass World Bad Brakes Fill my Eyes Morning has Broken Avoid the City After Dark I See the Light (with real rock'n'roll grrrrowwwls) Then a quick break for a cup of tea and a story about the tillerman and his donkey(!) Miles From Nowhere Don't be shy Wild World Moonshadow Peace train. Encore one: Long and Winding Road (in honour of Liverpool's musical heritage) All kinds of Roses Tuesday's Dead Encore two: Father and Son.
Various members of his family were seated in the audience, they wandered in and out of the secure backstage entrance. The crowd were good natured, there was some shouting for songs which were graciously acknowledged, but he stuck to the planned setlist, I think. He referred to Liverpool's importance in the history of modern music several times. Oh and he lost the words of Peace Train, I think it was, at one point and laughed at himself. Also there was a "Chair Incident" (They don't make 'em like they used to, apparently!) Lovely to meet Meg (Rubylove). Enjoy the RAH! Goodnight from me! (Yes I did sing along- sorry to those sat around me!)
