Hi Joanne, Colleen and I are still trying to decide what we are going to do. We were discussing hotel options last night. Maybe we'll end up there as well.

The one I'm at looks to be within walking distance of the venue, unless I'm misreading the scale of the map. How long will you and Colleen be staying in London, Kim? -Joanne

Hi Joanne,
We leave Boston the evening of the 17th and arrive in London the morning of the 18th. We will be staying until the 22nd.
We may have to look into staying there as well. Would be fun to stay at the same place.
Walking distance you say. That would be a plus.

Colleen & Kim- I haven't heard anything about anyone else's arrangements at this point. Yeah, I think it would be fun if we stayed at the same place. I'll be arriving at 10pm London time on the 18th, which, by the time I fetch my luggage, etc., will probably get me to the hotel around midnight. LOL I think I've already mentioned that I'll be flying over to Paris on the 21st. Maybe we could do brunch or something on Sunday? What sights do you guys have tops on your list? I was just in London in Feb., and the two things I regret not getting to are the National Gallery and The British Museum (don't ask me how I managed to skip those!) I also avoided Portobello Road with all the antiques, as my budget then was very tight. Heh, some things never change. -Joanne

and anyone else who is going, who may be on a tight budget like we are, we can discuss sharing rooms, if anyone is interested in doing that and cutting down on cost.

Hey All!
I posted a message to Joanne with some of my details and suggestions for sightseeing and getting together. Colleen, this was before I'd seen your message.
(joanne, let me know if you find it... I think I may have logged out too fast before it got through...)
Swamped at the moment...catch up with you guys this week for finalising things.

Oh, you'll love the Tower of London! I spent nearly an entire day there in February. I don't know my actual room number at this time. According to the terms of the Internet deal, the room won't actually be assigned until check in. And Hummingbird, no I didn't get your PM. -Joanne

Hey, Covent Garden is WONDERFUL, especially on Saturday night! Tons of buskers(STREET PERFORMERS), and one of them is a good friend of Hairy and mine! If you guys have a chance, drop by and listen to him! He sings some great Cat covers! Father and Son, Moonshadow, Hard Headed Woman and Wild World! We first met on our 1998 London trip and have been keeping in touch ever since! Oh yeah, his name is Alonso! If you have a chance to see him, tell him I say hello!
Peace,Vivian

Hey Vivian, Born the Nine spoke to someone who knows your friend while in was in Convent Garden, unfortunately he wasn't there at that time, but he's gone back down to London today so perhaps he'll get chance to see him this time.
Haven't made any plans yet as to whether I will be staying the night in London or driving straight home.

Fantastic place but it looks awful expensive to me...I'm not sure my budget will stretch to a gourmet meal... I'd love to meet up with you guys, but any chance of setting our sights a little lower for poor street urchins such as me? DJ

Hi Sue!! Thanks, Sue!! That looks like it.
DJ, oops, I didn't even check the $$$! Absolutely, the most important thing is for all of us to get together! I'm still checking around for someplace close by the RAH...I'll keep u posted if I find anything else.

why don't we all meet up at alfreds (which unfortunately is being renovated) and go from there? its a nice area with lots of little restaraunts and shops..its like a tiny little park right there in front of the restaraunt... we'd certainly recognize each other..i mean how many people will be likely to be milling around a restaraunt that isn't even open? hehe

( ;D ...this isn't a grin it's chattering teeth..LOL) I still think the best thing would be somewhere near the RAH, just in case we talk too long, it won't be too far to rush to the hall. ( I know what you ladies might be like once you get chatting LOL) I get the feeling that Kensington is a very 'posh' area though and the restaurants may mostly be quite expensive, and may mean you have to book in advance too, tricky as we are still not sure how many of us there will be. I'm in contact with another fan who knows London quite well and is going to the concert, and sometimes works near the RAH, so I'm hoping he can suggest somewhere reasonable. It might be better not to try to get together as a large group for a meal, but to just meet up at a cafe or bar instead for the chat . If it was a busy evening at a restaurant, we wouldn't want to end up half way through a meal and then have to rush to the concert. If we are at a bar or cafe it's a lot easier, all you need to do is finish a drink if we overrun with our get together, so maybe that may be more practical. What does anyone else think?

Should be a fabulous time!!!
