What is everyone doing? Hardly anybody is posting, there's no banter, no discussion, no fun chatting! Is the whole group just busy with fall activities, if so I understand, but I miss y'all! I know you're not packing for the U.K. quite yet! Oh well, just asking since there has been so little activity and everywhere I look I see my name as the last poster...thaat's boring. Looking forward to "bantering days" again!!

Hey Richina! I'm here, I'm here! Set myself up on myspace www.myspace.com/catchronicle and found a few majicatters there, also mostly in silent mode.

Hey Richina! We're here with you, girl! I was wondering the same thing, but blaming myself as well - wondering why I seem to have so little time. I guess I'm busy trying to keep my job (laid off and then extended 3 times since June - ugh!) and still planning some great times. I refuse to act jobless until/if I actually am. Some call that denial. Not sure what I call it!
Maybe it is just the lull between summer Yusuf activities and what is to come. But, yes, what is everyone up to?
I am actually heading to London in a few days for a quick trip to see Curtis Stigers (love, love, love him!) and a couple of plays. I have a ticket to see Kevin Spacey in "Inherit the Wind" next Sunday, so I'm pretty excited about that, too. And then it is the countdown to December 8 for me...

Hello Jane, great to have everyone coming on. I'm sorry about your job situation. I won't call it denial but a positive outlook Things will brighten up soon I'm sure. Inherit The Wind is a great play. Enjoy yourself! Hugs

Thanks Jane and Incognita!!! Thought I was here by myself. I go into DT's without my Majicat buddies. Jane, it sounds like you have some fabulous times planned. I can't wait to hear alllllll about them! And I agree with Incognita about the positive outlook....that's the only way to be. You're still there and that's what matters! I appreciate you both for popping your heads in to check on everything. I sure was getting lonely!!! Richina

I'm ready to 'return to the fold'... I guess you could say that I'm "Ready... ready... ready..." "Present and accounted for, this is Bud/'Sir Lorry Load', and I am so happy to be back." Oh, and please know, Richina, that your posts are never, ever "boring"... they're all _great_! And it's great to be back, Folks... it really is. -Bud

Hi Richina Don't worry we are all still here. Sometimes I quickly just look without signing on and am sure that lots of people do the same. Just always seem to have so much to do. Yes we are all excited about Yusuf doing more concerts. I have managed to see him more in the past couple of years than I did when he was Cat. (I am not complaining) ;D ;D

And we are glad to see you back, Bud! I know the pain of losing a loved one doesn't disappear overnight, but hopefully our banter and Richina's posts ;D will help lift your spirits.
It finally feels like Fall here in Minnesota. Of course, people are already complaining that it's cold - it's only 48 degrees! What are they going to do when it hits 20 degrees below zero?? Fall in MN also means the Honeycrisp apple. I think they are available in other parts of the US now. If you haven't tried one, I highly recommend it!

And may I close by saying, "Boy, the thought of those 'Honeycrisp apples' sure sounds great... and delicious!" Thanks so much again, Jane And thank you, Minnesota! -Bud

Oh Bud. You're back. YAY!!! ;D I've missed you and thought of you often. I'm so glad to hear from you and to get your input and take on everything!! And as far as "Yusufology" (love that term), I think Jane, Helen, and several others have a PhD! I'm nothing more than a "junior higher" myself and look forward to one day attaining their level of knowledge! However, I've been at it so long I feel as if I must have failed a few grades in light of all they know! Don't care, I'm a fast learner and I am trying my best to catch up. Also I want to thank everybody for letting me know where you've been. It was getting dark in here, thanks for the light! (see, I put my shades on!) In other words..."I think I see the light, comin' tooo me...!!) Love y'all!

Richina, I was sort of wondering the same thing myself, I know my week was busy so I figured the same for everyone else. But now that it is the weekend I have a few respite moments to myself (less the teens) and I'm saying "I'm here!" as well. Hey Bud, It really is great to see you back in the fold. Before I had actually signed in as a member your conversations with Richina were one of my favorite things to peek in on. The two of you are wonderfully amusing and together you lightened my day on a few occasions (Thankq!)

I can't imagine what we would be like at a dinner party...wait, yes I can, we'd get thrown out!! ;D But I guarantee we would have caused some trouble before we got ousted!! Thanks for checking in frmsaturn, I been so missing everybody. C'mon now let's not fall into the doldrums again. But I'll understand, if it's a slow news day, then it's a slow news day. Hey to Meg too!! ;D Oh, and Jane, 48 degrees?? That is what it was here last night and is considered unusually cool for this time of year. The cold here is very damp and different from what you experience. (not pleasant) It is actually between 75-80 degrees outside right now. We often have flucuations of 20 to 30 degrees in a 24 hour period. I remember more than one 80 degree Christmas. Water skiing is a year round sport here. People throw on a wet suit and get after it. Crazy!! As a matter of fact, if you don't like the weather in Louisiana, just hang around awhile, 'cause it'll change!! But hey, what's not to love?? ps Wouldn't mind some apples though!

I agree about the apples, any clue on shipping areas from Minnesota? Funny that Louisianans (that's a mouthful) say the same thing we do here in NM about the weather (if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes, it's sure to change.) Really though we love the temperature fluctuations this time of year - couldn't have the International Balloon Fiesta without it! 27 or 30 degrees in the morning, 70 by 10:00 or so and 80 or hotter by afternoon! We are experts at the layered look! (Okay sometimes it's not so fashionable but it works for chasing balloons!

Hi to everyone. I couldn't imagine a day without looking in on Majicat, but lately I'm finding it very hard to collect my thoughts to make a post. Majicat has always been a sort of life line for me, or like an extended family, and I know people here are very understanding. Rechina thankyou for keepng the heart of Majicat beating, even when you felt alone. I'm sorry you felt this way. I just want you to know I appreciate all the effort you make daily, and reading your posts, always puts a smile on my face. Thankyou again for giving us a little shake, and for trying to snap us out of whatever each and everyone of us is going through. Always remember, you are not alone, here on Majicat

How cool frmsaturn!!! Why don't you send us some pics of the Fiesta?? And boy are you right about that layered look...but you can only tie so many things around your waist or stuff them in your purse!! LOL I have a sister-in-law that has a house in Santa Fe. She loves the weather there. She says that in the summer, it's just a matter of closing different sets of blinds to keep the sun off certain rooms of the house. She doesn't even have an air conditioner. Around here, no A/C and they'd be using a spatula to scrape you off the floor from where you had melted!! tee-hee

Looking forward to "bantering days" again!! Hi! I'm here! I wish I could come here more often but I've always got computer issues (I'm still on dial up!, and my computer itself is down to 2% free space!!) and I also deal with being pulled in a hundred different directions all at once, and I admit it, also depression. Some days I can't seem to do anything I enjoy (like coming here). But I'm moving soon, to a new house, and no matter how much scrimping and saving it's going to take, I'm getting a new computer and a REAL internet connection! No more dial up! Another reason I don't post often is I feel I don't have anything real to contribute, as I've never seen Cat/Yusuf in concert, and never met him or any of his band members, as I've noticed many of you have. I can't TELL you how much I envy you but also how nice it is to be able to read the first-hand accounts of these adventures! I always wonder what I was doing when concerts (back in the day) were held near my home. Was I looking left that day instead of right and I didn't see the poster? Or was I in the shower when the DJ on the radio announced it? I used to go to concerts a lot as a teenager, but I never even heard a whisper of Cat's. Oh I know where I was, I was in that movie theater in Georgetown watching Harold and Maude again and again with my friend Cindy! Doh!

Hey SS, It's not about whether or not you've seen him in concert, or have all his records, or any one of a hundred other things. To me it's all about how his music has touched your life or inspired you to do (or not do) something. It's about feelings and sharing a common interest with people of a like mind. You can say things here, that if you said them to the average person, they would look at you like you were a "fan"atic!! But on this site...anything goes! Love his hair? say it! Love his song? say it! Wish he'd trim his beard a little? oh, I'll say that!! Whatever--express yourself. We don't care. We're your buds, pals, amigos....whatever you want to share, we're listening!! ;D And anyway...what we gonna do...come get you? PS say sumthin' bad and we might NOT!! (we don't know your address LOL) Richina

I totally sympathize with your situation SS. I've been through that. This place has been helping my depression so I hope you get proper internet soon and can spend time here. Good luck with the new home! You know what? You just contributed something that many of us fans can relate to. Leave alone ever attending concerts, I don't own albums, nothing! What was I doing all these years when his music was sitting on youtube and I could have listened to it? Why didn't I pay more attention to the songs when I heard them back in the seventies? Why didn't I ever surf the net to find out about what he was up to currently? I'll tell you why! Divine purpose. It all happened the way it did with a reason and what's happening now has a reason too. Just hang in there. You're going to be having some amazing Cat/Yusuf moments of your own. Hugs
