Hi everyone I have just listened to Yusuf (Cat Stevens) on a live BBC Radio station.
He speaks about the up and coming concert, also mentions he has groups coming from the USA.
I sat and listened spellbound.
The man is gentle caring and made a lot of sense in everything he said.
The program was on BBC 2 Radio station. They have a website but I'm not sure of the address maybe you could all try to get on BBC 2 website and see if there is a recording which I think there maybe.

It was a great interview. The second interview that was supposed to be on after this one has been postponed until
October 13th.

I missed it: :-( had one of those major head aches where you can't even look at a PC screen.
It's slowly easing now, so hopefully they will re-run it so I can hear it.
Hey Rob, fabulous that he mentioned the fans going to see it.
BTW- you living in England, are you going to the concert?

Hi,
I was just now listening to the Noel Edmunds "Drivetime" show on the BBC Radio 2 show that Yusuf was on yesterday. I wanted to see if Noel would mention Yusuf today. Well, he did!!!!
He said that he enjoyed talking to Yusuf so much and how inspiring Yusuf is. He went on quite a bit about it. He mentioned the schools again, and how he admired Yusuf. He said when he got a cab to go home after the show that the cabbie said he had heard the show and it made him (the cabbie) feel so inspired and good. Then the cabbie he rode with this morning also mentioned he had heard the show and was so glad to know what Cat is doing now and that he does so much good. Noel also mentioned the Remembrance concert.
I wish I could remember everything he said, but I hadn't really thought he would bring it up, and I was kind of caught by surprise. Also, I only thought of listening when there was only about 40 minutes left of the show so I thought if Yusuf was mentioned today I probably had missed it.
Just wanted to let you all know how impressed Noel was with Yusuf!!!

That's wonderful, Waterside! Of course, who wouldn't be impressed with Yusuf! He is just a sweet, genuine, caring and impressive person!

I come here all the time, but I never get around to posting messages. I enjoy all the messages everyone else posts. This is a wonderful site, Christine!
Today I just had to post a message as soon as I heard Noel saying again how much he admires Yusuf. That was exciting! I wanted to post before I forgot everything he said.
Lucy, I'm looking forward to working on the crossword puzzle. It looks like it will be so much fun to work on. You did a fantastic job of creating it.

That interview sounds so wonderful! I sure hope it is put peranently on line, so we all can listen! I CAN'T WAIT to hear it! Now, I am anxiously waiting for the crossword puzzle to arrive in the mail!

Hey everybody! I just went to the BBC website. No, the interview you're talking about isn't up yet (darn!) but if you haven't heard the Bob Harris interview from a couple of years ago, have a listen! It's really great! Yusuf comes off as thoroughly likeable (which I'm sure he is) and not the least bit staid. Very enjoyable! Hopefully, the latest interview will be up soon! |
