Greetings!
I am gearing up to write a piece about our mutual journeys to London. If you would like to share your story send me an email to:
goldenroad@optonline.net
What I'm looking for is the spiritual aspect: why are we traveling such great distances? When did his music first come into our lives and what did it do for us?
Peace,
Bob

Sounds like a superb idea; a book of memories. You know Blurb.com is a good source to use in writing books such as this. (just my little input, although you may like one of the other internet personal book websites better)
Good luck, and let us know how it comes out.

Christine A little secret: I happen to not only be a writer but also a publisher. However, a book is not really what I have in mind right now. More like an essay. I may approach a magazine with it if I like what it comes out looking like. At the very least I will share it here once completed. Thanks for the website blurb.com, I'll be sure to check it out. Bob

Hi Bob, I think when all the excitment has settled after the concerts you might get more of a response to your idea, if you haven't already. I think everyone who went or would have like to have gone, will have a similar story. One thing I am sure is that whether they like to admit it or not, is that, well you could call it, a life long love affair with the man, and his music. Theres no better way to describe this feeling. After the music stopped, we were left with a broken heart. We could not forget, and the music never stopped in our hearts. When the music began again, it was like the rekindling of that love affair. Now that the old flame is burning once again, if possible we would travel to the moon just to be in his presence, and to experienceis his majic. Anyway hearing and seeing him live takes you to the moon. ;D Is this your first Cat/Yusuf concert. If you have not been to a CAT or YUSUF concert, London will make an everlasting inpression on you. I was fortunate to have seen him in May this year. I would have gone to London, especially to see Yusuf playing at the RAH, maybe would have taken your offer too, but due to family commitments, it was not possible. As you can see here, no one is made to feel left out, this site has the most caring, sharing, sensitive, loving, good natured people all under the one roof called Majicat. Be patient and I'm sure you will get your stories. Have a safe trip, and have a great time in Lonon. You know you could go to the 'Introduce Yourself ' on the baord and you might get some stories there, but I guess you better ask before you publish them, but again being a publisher you know better.

Hey Bob, Thank you for letting me in on your little secret. Then, of course, you would know how to put this little collective diary of memories together. I still think it sounds like a fun project. I hope you can get some good responses. I have not been to London,. But, I would have loved to have gone to any of the British Isles concerts. But, because of the effect of the economy on my finances, it was much wiser not to go. Even though my heart was telling me to go, go, go and not worry.... my brain told me other wise. London has always been a dream of mine.... Not only to see a Yusuf concert, but also to meet many of the wonderful British fans I have known over the years, the majicatters here.... George, who I have spoken to for over 10 years now, Chris... and the land of where I met my very first real knowledgeable fan and who is responsible for me creating Majicat in the first place, but has sadly passed a way some years ago... Keith Balaam. Keith, George, Chris, Yusuf and the majicatters make London seem like the ultimate place to venture to when seeing a Cat/Yusuf concert. If only the NYC concert hadn't fallen through last year..... Good luck, and welcome to Majicat.... Christine

Downunder: yes, this is my first time seeing him. I have been to London before and I knew when the tour was announced that seeing him in RAH, in the city where it all began, well...I just knew I had to be there. Just another part of my personal spiritual journey. Christine, that NY concert will happen in due time. I am totally confident that he will come here in the near future. As for the stories from you guys, the first one I have is from a friend who saw him open for Traffic at the Fillmore East. She says she will never forget it. Not sure if I would ever forget something like that, either! Peace, Bob

Bob. Your in for a nice treat. Coming to London and seeing Yusuf at the Royal Albert Hall will be a lovely experience for you and anyone else who has not seen Yusuf in concert before. The Royal Albert hall is a beautiful venue. I am lucky to live in London and have seen him as Cat and as Yusuf 5 times, seeing him again at the Albert hall will be my 6th time (who said I was greedy) ;D Before a concert I still get nervous, don't know why. He came into my life in 1966 when I was 11 years old and has remained there ever since. When I was going to see Yusuf 2 years ago it was the first time I would be seeing him since the 70's, well for the whole week before I was so so nervous that I was so careful what I ate in case I got ill.

Bob i learn to now Yusuf's music around age 14 when the song my lady d'Arbanville played on the pirate radiostation Nothsea.Studien for a re examen for school (lol) i heard the song every houre as song of the week and i was so into the voice i said i need to hear more songs of the man.My neighbour friend was someone who knew alot of music tru his older brothers and one day he brought me Teaser and the fire cat and then it begun.I did'ent had a recordplayer then but i started to buy all the records of Cat every money i got by babysitting or other was to buy my records and finally i got my recordplayer at age 15 ;my English was not so good but i wonted to understand every song and so little by little i found out and that was wonderfull.I only knew the photo's from the elpees and many things i found out the last years i did'ent know about him but you see just his music was the reason this man never was forgotten and i never believed the story's the bad talks. Then in 2OO2 I SAW THE DOCUMENTARY about Cat Stevens and i looked to it over and over so happy i found him back. The rest is hystory i found Majicat and all the people who are posting hear.I came two times to London ones to meet the friends and ones to see Yusuf singing for the first time in my live ,i learn to know Yoriyos's music to and met him in London in May then you see his family and it makes it all compleet .Yusuf back and alot of friends to meet with the same story;HE HAS BROUGHT US TOGETHER BY COMING BACK;now i'm coming to London for the thirth time and when God want it there will be many times coming like Moonshadow maybe the opening of Yusuf center Makkah in North-London we will find a reason. I hope also for all the people in the world who want to see Yusuf singing back they get the chance. And the fine thing there is also we help him to do his things for charity;hope he tells us what the project is he have in mind now he mansion in his interview when he talked about the tshirts and mugs and things we can buy.He said it was a specialproject. To exspirians all this things is wonderfull and he is the main reason of all of that .Regine
