Thanks crobarbie, I was looking for this-could not believe there would be no reviews. Funny how people talk about the same thing in quite different voices. "A generously lengthy set was performed with winning modesty" seems positively economical while "Yusuf Islam gave a triumphant and spellbinding performance to the venue’s capacity audience." certainly got closer to what it felt like on Tuesday night in that magical place!

Thanks G-One. Had to laugh when I read..."the kind of Muslim you could take home to meet your mum or the pope", and ..." songs which at their best....with such subtle power that can get the most respectable, middle aged matrons up on their feet, punching their fists in the air". I hope that was meant to be a compliment. ;D I don't know why most of the reviewers go round and round about the tour trying to hint on some minute negative details, instead of coming straight out and writing that the tour was a triumphant success!!!!, and that YUSUF has never sounded better.!!!!!What's wrong with them all. Are they blind, are they deaf? Are they not hearing what we hear and see. Beats me. The headlines should have been something like....' YUSUF AKA CAT STEVENS, BRINGS DOWN THE RAH', or ' STANDING OVATIONS FOR YUSUF AKA CAT STEVENS AT THE RAH', or 'YUSUF AKA CAT STEVENS AT HIS BEST', or, '8-12- 2009 RAH, A NIGHT NEVER TO FORGET', well something similar. ;D

AMEN Vicki! I was thinking the exact same thing. Perhaps they think they would not sound hip or cool if all they did was gush over him the way we do.
Oh well, better to be us!

Yeah, I know people are entitled to their opinions, but I get the feeling, that something ain't just right in these reviews. They seem to want to make an impression with their writing skills. What's happend, it seems so hard for people today to speak or write the simple, honest truth.

Mmmm... sometimes I tend to think they grudge the way he's come back "flying on the power of love." It's their loss if they can't feel the joy we feel. Sitting here 5000 miles away I am rocking just thinking about the performance!

Maya, you could be right. I hope they still don't question Yusufs true motives or, honest intentions. That would be sad. In the end, I hope they don't choke on their words. Is that how the saying goes? 5000, 10,000 miles, love will always find a way.

To be fair, I think this last review is actually a really good one -as have been most. 4 out of 5 stars is something most artists would be proud of and of course the reviewers are not die-hard Yusuf fans. But they all were affected by the geniune warmth and humility that Yusuf showed in his performances. And all have commented on the excellent quality of voice and music! So that makes the review even more pleasing.

The review is very good but they like to turn around the pot lol and that being Muslim that's still something they can't get over ;but we were giving them enough the feeling how we love this warm and humble person. Yusuf is SHOWING THEM EVERYTHING WHAT HE REALLY IS .LIKE WE KNOW HIM FOR ALL THIS YEARS .SO GUYS (journalists)what you see and heard that's Yusuf like he is and always was Regii

Those scary Muslims! Watch out!
I have to tell you, what an eye opening experience to be alone in London
I felt like a minority with the prevalence of Islam everywhere
I learned so much about tolerance
For God's sake, they aren't all terrorists!

Well - here it goes - first time up for me. I read the three reviews and found them all rather bias - against Mr. Islam. In looking at the writing - it appeared these "critics" - aren't very old. I am not sure they were born when he left the industry in 1978. In making comments relative to the use of the acoustic guitars in place of computers is a dead give away. It also shows extreme ignorance on their part relative to music in any genre. I wasn't impressed with the writing - more flowers - than facts.
Have you ever gone to a concert - and then read the review and wondered if this person was at the same concert you were?
Also - it is not necessary to bring up politics or religion in reviewing a musical concert. They don't do it to U2 - why here? I find prejudice in these reviews - the Irish were much more liberal and stayed with the performance itself - no politics or religion were mentioned - just the booing of the irresponsible audience.
Maybe I just take my adoption papers down... LOL
Okay - now go hit me with rocks - or something!

I have to agree with Marge here ..... we don't know anything about the ages of the so called "reviewers" - what makes one a reviewer", anyway? Always, always the Muslim thing .... would it be the same if Yusuf were Hindu, or Baha'i, or Buddhist - or Christian !!!!? I think not. And I don't understand the discomfort being around Muslim people ....... I treat all as I want to be treated, and it has always been reciprocated. We are all the same inside. All of the "human race". There are good and bad in everything. The concerts rocked - period. The man, Yusuf, is who he is. I love his mind, music, spirit. Nothing else matters to me Some "reviewers" did the same thing to George Harrison for awhile, when he was following the Harekrishna. I just liked the man's music and message. His personal religious beliefs were none of my business ~~ Peace all ~~ Nancy

I've read your responses - and I am happy you see what my point was with the reviews. Critics don't mean anything - all that matters - if you had a good time or not - and enjoyed it. I noticed in Dublin - there were a lot of young people coming - and that is very important.
As far as politics and religion - it takes one person to make one step - then another person follows - and before long - there are no borders - we are all people - respect, treating each other with dignity, understanding - and at times we must be tolerant. It's not that hard - it how I live my life.
But the press is the press - and for the young reporters - a "chance to make a splash" - show biz - ... LOL
The best to all of you - ! Just in my humble opinion - .... they weren't even 25 - and probably didn't understand why he wasn't rapping and whatever else they do today -!
Best regards,
Marge

You folks may be taking my post wrong I indeed WAS a minority where I stayed off Edgware Road & Sussex Gardens I did a little research when I got home and Islam is the #2 religion in the UK This was the first time in my life I was surrounded by so many Muslims and I LOVED it! And I just loved all those hookah smoke lounges all over the place

it is not necessary to bring up politics or religion in reviewing a musical concert.
>Well, when you make a high profile conversion to Islam like Cat did then I think you kinda open yourself up to it. Also, he himself started talking about Copenhagen from the stage saying how he talked about these things 30 years ago so again, he opened himself up to it (politics)
Reviewers of concerts, books, etc. are just people who wish they had creativeness in them so I never take them seriously.
