I attended the concert at Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday Dec. 8th, 2009. I must say I was absolutley blown away. Yusuf/Cat did all the old favorites and incorporated both the best of Roadsinger and An Other Cup. I think the part that really hit home is when he went into the old school medley of I love my Dog, followed by Here comes my Baby, then into The First Cut is the Deepest. The quality of his voice and laid back persona was much better than the Magicat concert of `76. Alun along with the band members were outstanding as well. A great time and a great show was had by all. Morning has broken was done well and Oh Very Young gave me some goosebumps. Yes, I had on a Cat Stevens T-shirt at the show. Can`t wait for more upcoming shows.

I have to say that Barley Rice hit the nail on the head! We travelled together to see Yusuf/Cat at RAH and the show surpassed even my wildest expectations! It was great to see Yusuf looking so relaxed and like he was having a great time! I will never forget the Medley he performed towards the end of the show! Seeing as "I Love My Dog" is one of my favourite songs...it was such a treat to have him play it! So unexpected! the only possible way this show could have been any better...was if he had played "On The Road to Find Out!" ....... but I certainly won't complain! Maybe Next time!
It was also great to get to meet the "Majicat" crew!! An experience i will NEVER forget!

The more family members, the better, the more chance we will have, that Yusuf will continue to hear our 1000 and more strong voices, telling him how grateful we are that he is back, and how many are still waiting to see him perform again. |

I am proud to say that Redleggedchicken and Barley Rice had their names chosen by us: me, Gabi, and Joanne at the Shaftesbury last Monday night. They were in the bar and saw Gabi's "Wanted" t-shirt. They ended up joining us until we all left at about 2am! It was a great time and I am very happy to see both of you here on the boards!

I think you're right Regi...Yusuf probably gets tickled over all the names that people come up with on the site! Personally, I too am unduly impressed with a lot of them. But as you can see, either I have no imagination, am too lazy, or thought all the good names were taken....because I came up with, ta-da...my own name!! ;D Well at least there's no mistaking who I am and nobody has to try to remember my user name vs. my real name!  You know, that gets pretty hard...I even kept a list for a while, but I think I lost it.  Thorry! The 1 and only (but not very original), Richina |
