I got all of the noxshi set and about 90% of the main act. I hope you aren't bothered by my singing along on many of the clips

Many thanks Lister, for your enormous effort putting all these wonderful videos up for us to enjoy. You did a very good job. And I think you are the only person who has nearly the whole set of Noxshi. Great sound How nice it is to be able to stop, pause, rewind, forward, each performance, and pick up on all the details. This going to give us many hours of pleasure. Thankyou for recordeing the intro of the band. Now I know the name of the female backup singer, I think Yusuf says Allison Judd. Love the way Yusufs jokes in between songs, and I like your little comments you make with your friend. ;D Thankyou again, now getting back to the concert ;D P.S I was impressed with your voice, and the fact you did not forget a single line. You have a very fine voice, compliments Yusuf voice just nicely.

Her name is Alison Jiear. Here's the bio from the program: A Laurence Olivier Award nominated actress with numerous West End credits, Alison is a highly acclaimed cabaret and recording artist with 2 solo albums. Having taught herself to play her 12-string guitar to "Teaser & the Firecat", Alison is honoured to be working with Yusuf on this wonderful tour.

Here's my little write up of the night. Once again, I got in early to pick up my tickets (one row closer than wednesday) and wandered around the merchandise stands and picked up a blue "wanted" t-shirt with the "bamboozle" tour design on the back as well as a "wanted" bag. There was a regular announcement over the PA: "Yusuf will not be accepting gifts during the show. If you have gifts they must be handed in at the cloak room." On Wednesday night I wondered what gift you could give to Yusuf and on Friday I wondered some more. My 2 sisters and I eventually got into the arena and were waiting for Noxshi to start. A young Muslim woman was sitting a couple of seats away so we started talking to her a bit and she told us that her cousin had met Yusuf at the Carlton mosque earlier in the day and that she also had tickets to the gala dinner. I told her about the previous gig and about noxshi and pointed out Alun talking to a guitar tech at the side of stage and Yoriyos and Fawziah as they walked past us. She told me her favourite song was Matthew and son and I just went into "Cat mode" and started talking away to her and another woman that was sitting next to me about obscure facts relating to cat until noxshi came on stage. With security tight I had to be creative with my filming. For the first few songs none of the security bothered me so i get a nice view but had put it away after that. I came up with resting my camera hand under my chin, covering the camera from the side, making it less visible to security. The drawback of this was not actually being able to see what I was exactly pointing at. My second position was resting the camera on my stomach and sliding down my seat so I could point it at the side projections. This had the same drawbacks as the first position This was mixed in with the occassional pretending to take a photo pose. I'm interested to know other peoples filming strategies. Even though I knew what to expect, it was exciting to see if Yusuf would change things up a bit, and he did. Opening with "Lilywhite", he followed it with "where do the children play", rather than "the wind" as he did on Wednesday. After the first few songs, Yusuf sat down and you could see his leg was noticeably shaking as he was performing. I picked this up on wednesday too, so it must be normal for him, I guess. Overall, he seemed much more relaxed and was really joking quite a bit more and doing longer intros to songs, which probably led to the boots and sand clip being massively out of sync with the live performance. It was only off by a few seconds on wednesday. Oh, did I mention it was a totally awesome show and I enjoyed it even more than wednesday as I really got into it with singing along to all the songs and applauding wildly after each one I also caught a glimpse of myself on the screen during wild world so maybe I will be on the DVD

Thanks Lister for correcting the name. Yes, Yusuf has only the best beside him. It's very late in Melbourne now, but it seems you're still awake. I have a few questions, but because it's never ending, and I don't want to take advantage of your generocity, I'll only ask one, and you can reply when you can. Listening to the concert, did Yusuf sing in the 'Medley',"and she's always texting on the phone" instead of talking, and the audience laughs. This is not a question, but I noticed as he mentioned his Greek heritage, there was a huge roar of a responce. This comes as no surprise, as Melbourne has the third largest Greek population in the world. Had to laugh when Yusuf says, "you know, once a Greek, always a Greek". Well that's the Greek temperament for you. Great to hear Alun and the band sing in Greek. Ohhh, what a great night it was for all. Thanking you once again, and wishing you a very good night. P.S Singing along is very contagious, you have me singing along now. ;D P.S.S Just saw you are still awake. Looks like you still have the power of the concert running through your head. I know exactly how you must be feeling. This power of this experience will never leave you. It will slowly subside, then BAM!!! when the official dvd of the tour is realesed, it will explode in you head again. ;D Enjoy the journey.

Lister - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I know how much it takes to take video at a concert, so I really appreciate these. I'm glad you were able to more fully enjoy the second concert.
I am very confused about taking videos. I was shocked (and I'm sure Helen would agree) that we were able to so freely take pictures and video at Royal Albert Hall in December. I had been there previously and there was no tolerance for it. At first I thought maybe it was up to the artist and that Yusuf had allowed it, but maybe that is not the case. I actually tend to do more audio recording than video, and take still photos in lieu of video.
I'm hoping someone recorded some full concerts from this tour that show up somewhere soon. A full recording of the RAH concert showed up on dimeadozen about 2 months after the concert, so we will have to keep our eyes pealed...

Great job with the videos Lister! Thank you. I truly enjoyed watching them! Jane, do you think maybe it has something to do with which ones will be released on DVD. If they are...why would anyone buy them if they could watch for free on YouTube? Just a thought.

Hello, I'm new here - my partner keeps teasing me about being an internet nerd and obsessively reading and posting on Yusuf's site - now I've discovered a whole other 'world' of Majicat posting to be had!
I was at the 2nd Melb concert in the front row! I took my mum, who raised me on Cat, and the songs resonate very deeply for me. Mum has been very unwell for many years. She can hardly walk anymore, and was panting by the time we got to our seats. It was worth every step. The concert was a balm for her soul, and mine.
It's so nice to read other people's accounts of the concert, it enhances the whole thrill of the experience to hear how it effected others so strongly, and to know that the magic was shared with so many who love the music as dearly as I do. Thank you 'Lister' for your post describing the pre-concert vibe of shared anticipation and excitement.
as Yusuf said "to be continued...."

Hello Windowsoflight, and a very warm welcome to our very special little corner of the www. world called Majicat. It was very touching reading your post, and how you expressed your inermost feelings on how you were connected to Yusufs inspiring work over the years. You are very loving, caring, and thoughtful daughter, who took the time to share this wonderful night with her mother. I can imagine what this must have meant to her. May you always have her good blessings. Very happy for both of you that you both experienced very special memorable moments together. May you always cherish them in your heart. Again welcome, and I hope to read more from your night at the concert, and anything else you would like to share. Please give my warm regards to your mother, from one older ex Cat fan, to another, who is now known as Yusuf, and who still contnues to inspire us. Oh, and I forgot to say I love your chosen name for this site, a favourite line, from one of my favourite songs, that takes me away xxxx

Glad you got to see the concert with your mother. I am so envious of those who have close friends or family with whom to share their love of Yusuf. Until I found Majicat, there was NO ONE in my life who was a fan and many who questioned why I still was. That must have been a very special time for both you and your mom. Jane

If they are...why would anyone buy them if they could watch for free on YouTube? Just a thought. You could be right, Richina. Majid posted a couple of weeks ago that they could not post certain videos on Yusuf's YouTube channel because they don't have the rights to them. Can you imagine not having the rights to your own performance? Oh, and WE would buy the DVD. I mean, a YouTube video is nice, but it's not the same as a DVD. I suppose not everyone is us, though.

We absolutely would, and I bet we're not alone! . Of course your not alone girls!! ;D Although I really appreciate personal youtube videos of the concert, but is it the same as to watching a DVD of the tour of perfect clarity, and on an enormous 40" flat line screen( that is if your lucky to have such a screen), but even a normal 26" is just fine. I think there is a big difference. Jane, remember when we walked into Helens lounge, remember who was playing on her enormous screen t.v ;D It felt you could walk into the screen and sit in the audience. ;D I think it will be a long wait, but I hope it's out before xmas. Perfect for those long winter nights, sitting at home, with nothing better to do. :)Ahhhh that's something to look forward to, don't you think girls ;D Oh yes Regine,!!I nealy forgot, and a DVD of the RAH CONCERT too for Xmas!!!! ;D What a lovely thought!!!! ;D

Waiting for two things to happen at this point in time. And I do know that I have been preaching patience...but...ok...one would be a DVD, starting as you said Richina, at the El Rey, because that is where the love began. What a night and what an experience...and then continuing with the other concerts...bigger and louder, but with still a whole lot of love. The second would be a North American Tour. I think many of us are dying to see him in North America. Yusuf...I hope you are listening...I am pleading with a whole lot of love. Ah but to dream...
