That is a raelly lovely picture. The picture the report paints is less lovely and a complete opposite of what we read about Yusuf these days.

Gizem and M are true experts, but I'll give it a shot. Well . . . humm . . . It looks like young Cat. If so, obviously pre-TB, yoga and vegetarian food. But l would have to consult someone MUCH better at analyzing clues and arriving at a brilliant theory. . . Inspector Clouseau! Digging those Englebert Humperdink sideburns! Glassworld, where in the WORLD did you find this?

Don't know if this one's ever been posted here but that has to be my favourite, from a German magazine, circa 1976: Cough, cough, sputter, gulp .....yep, one of my favorites too!! ;D Gorgeous....thanks for the find!

Boo, I wish I knew German. My daughter just got back from a tour of Germany and brought back a German women's mag which I want to read (Brigitte) -- she had a wonderful time, says how fabulous Germany is -- and I see that there's so much fascinating information on Herr Cat written in German. I'm just going to have to break down and get that Rosetta Stone program so I can learn the language once and for all. Spitze!

A couple here from Sierra Espunã ~ March 1970 you probably won't have seen They're a bit small not great quality, but thought I'd share these two, my favourites from a family album

That's WAY cool! And refreshing. Amateur photography of the Cat. Thanks for sharing these! They must be very precious to you. (Boy, was he skinny!)

He does look rather skinny doesn't he, I believe he was 'de-toxing' when my grandparents met him. My Grandad will have taken these photos and that's my Nan in the picture, they are no longer with us so yes precious pics indeed. The guy with the glasses is my Uncle Alan and the other lad a friend of his (unsure). I was delighted when my sister uncovered these to show to my 11yr old daughter - who became fascinated by Cat since earlier this year when I told her about the time he spent with our folks in Spain. Pleased you like

Looks to me like he was having a great time! ;D I suppose this was right before everything "blew up" and he became really famous. Thanks so much for sharing and welcome to our happy group. If I had been there, I'd have run off with his shirt!!

I wonder if this was the trip to Spain where he also visited the coast - "Moonshadow" Spain? He said that he went there to work through some stuff. Cool pics - thanks for sharing. Not quite sure what the last pose is about - some type of Yoga, maybe a body-builder pose, or throwing an invisible javelin? When/if he does a US tour, I plan to attend whatever concert you attend, Richina. I can't wait to see what bold stunt you pull. I'm guessing it will involve SOME bit of clothing - just for your collection, I'm sure. No other motives on your part! ;D

Yes, he was visiting the coast - he rented a flat in Mazarron for 3 months and frequented 'The Bar Royale' which has now been demolished. He finished writing Matthew & Son during his time there and regarding Moonshadow .. As I know it the melody was inspired by some Latin American folk music Grandad had on reel-to-reel. The beach/rocks he was dancing on I think, Isla Plana overlooking Azohia Bay - a positively breathtaking view. That's all I know... I found your forum here whilst looking for further info myself a few months ago, seems there is little on record about that period of Cats life. However, as a big fan there's plenty of interesting reading here one day i'll get through it all!! Thank you for the welcome Sandi x (http://www.panoramio.com/photo/74763819 - the best viewpoint pic I could find from Google - to reflect roughly how I would imagine he saw it)

wow, I loved these photos!! thanks adornedsin for sharing them and a bit of info during his visit in Spain. Cat only talked about going on holiday by himself....he looks like he is throwing a rock or showing your uncle how to do yoga or something like that......so candid...just loved it! hahaha Richina, I'll race you for that yellow shirt of his

More of the yellow shirt for you girls ;D (looks better off dontya think?) hehe.. I would imagine the Williams took him under their wing after meeting him in that bar, Nanna Williams had a very outgoing personality <3 miss her muchly. I'll maybe see if Uncle Alan can remember what was going on in the invisible javelin shot

I always thought he was too skinny for the shirtless photos, but I have a feeling I am in the minority on that one. These are great photos, adornedsin. Thanks so much for sharing them with us! Jane

No other motives on your part! ;D Now Hyacinth, you know I don't pull "stunts".... at least not while Jane is watching! The worst I might do would be maybe to dance and sing a little while in the audience. Actually, I'm thinkin' I might dance a lot, depending on what he plays, where I'm sitting and who I'm sitting with! As far as clothing being involved.....I don't need much, ( of his I mean), 'cause if glasses, or anything else, flies off..... y'all better get outta my way!! You have to understand....I need it for my collection. ;D Again, love the pix....and what a great story!!! You know, I'd have plucked him out of that bar in Spain myself Yep, and taken him under my, uh..... wing. Absolutely, certainly, sure, of course..... that's precisely what I would have done. Heh-heh, yeah right! PS Sorry I haven't been around....battling a hurricane this week. Everything's fine, thank goodness it settled a little....only 45 mph winds rustling through the huge oak trees around my house! I can't remember a hurricane tracking up the middle of Louisiana...pray for the folks on the coast! Anybody heard from Anthony...he lives down there ??

Glad the winds are only 45 miles per hour. You folks in Louisiana have it tough with hurricanes, but that's just to balance out the easy-going life you have when its not hurricane season Let the good times roll! Let's hope all is well with Ant in Cajun country! Are you out there, Anthony? I know that he will be leaving on his trip up north to Pennsylvania in another week to visit his sweetie-pie Vanessa. The comment about Cat "de-toxing" is interesting - detoxing from a broken heart would be my guess.

Glad you're ok, Richina - been thinking about all of you in Isaac's path and really hoping that you are all doing fine. Let's hope to hear from Ant soon, too!
Belatedly, I must say thank you to Adornedsin for sharing her amazing photos (and welcome to Majicat!).
Take care everyone.

My favorite Cat photo. I love the passion you can see in his face. Just him and his song, not thinking about anything else or anyone else. Beautiful. Attachments:
