If you want to grab one great audience recording, probably one of the best I've heard, this one just appeared on Dimeadozen. I'm not the uploader btw but I've had this one for quite a while in my collection after some heavy trading. The sound, especially in the second part is excellent for this kind of recording. Reading the description, I understand why now! Glaucus, to take the time and make the effort (and you do so on a regular basis) to unearth for us such gems as this '76 Majikat American Tour stop in Boston is greatly, and always, appreciated. Thank you! -Bud

Thanks. What a great find. The performance of I Love My Dog is a real treat. I didn't know Cat performed that in the second stage of his career.

I can't figure out what to do with the flac files I downloaded using uTorrent. I thought they would come over as mp3 files. Does anyone know what I am supposed to do now? I hesitate to keep downloading random software at this point since a few viruses have attached themselves to some of the things I've tried. Any insight would be appreciated.

I use Switch - it's a sound file converting software from NCH and they are very reputable. I use several of their products. They offer free trial periods for just about all their software.
By the way, there is much more risk in using uTorrent than most software available out on the web, but trust me on NCH.

Glaucus - thank you for this! Does this have the same sound quality as the Seattle concert that surfaced awhile back? I'll download this tonight but was just wondering.

Hi Jane, IMO it's actually better than Seattle. Especially the second part. If you can use an equalizer, the sound from Boston is amazing! That's what I did a few years back, I used an audio program to clean up and improve the sound. I think you'll enjoy it very much!

I play around with Wavepad a bit. I'll see what I can do with this new little gem. Thanks a ton, Glaucus! Jane

I don't know what that means but I probably had the same problem because I did try using switch and then tried utorrent - and nothing worked for me.

What exactly did uTorrent download for you? Did you end up with a folder of individual flac files - each file a different song? If so, then you just need to drag those files into Switch and convert to mp3.

That sounds like something I might be able to handle! I'll have to explore this again tonight. I think I may have deleted everything I brought over using uTorrent because I was concerned there might be a virus associated. After you mentioned that uTorrent could be risky, I recalled that my computer kept crashing and rebooting that same evening. So I deleted everything - and maybe threw out the baby with the bathwater, I am now realizing. I'll let you know if I accomplish anything. Thank you. Apparently I am not a thorough as I thought The files are exactly where I left them ;D

Okay - I switched them to MP3's. Now what? Is it okay to share them, or is that not cool/against the rules? (I'm new at this)
Glaucas - I've only listened to Whistlestar so far, and it sounded terrific. Thanks so much for the link. Jane, I PM'd you.
Ha ha - I just noticed on the reel box illustration that the expensive tickets cost $8.50!

Yes, I think you'd be all right to share them. These aren't commercially available and the only request the people who upload to DimeADozen usually make is that you don't sell them for profit.

He stopped and started again and stopped again .. went off stage .. lol and came back on .. said whistling was rude while He was singing .. I AGREE!!! xoxoxo He turned out loving that audience after they held back the whistling till after the songs!!!! xoxo

Wow - I just did a song-song comparison between Seattle and this recording (just two songs) and it's incredible! What great quality for a 70s bootleg! Hopefully I will find time to throw this into Wavepad to see if I can play with the sound a bit. Thanks again to you and ilovemycat for this! Jane
