You're all very kind.. but I didn't want to draw attention to myself with that last message. My original intention was to say: "Please, stop the massacr.... uh... contest". LOL Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously, there are some very very good covers over there. And it's a hard thing to cover someone we respect and of whom we know all the songs by heart. We fans have a tendency to compare the cover to its original. Anyway, it was a fun contest, I'd just hope I could have had more time to post another one.

Anyway, it was a fun contest, I'd just hope I could have had more time to post another one. Among the countless aspects of your songs that I admire, Charles, is that while your Cat/Yusuf covers pay great credit to their original forms (and, of course, to Yusuf, himself), they are, at the same time, quite original (that terrific personal touch!) in their own right. I guess what I'm trying to express is that you make these songs your own. I admire your musicianship greatly and always look forward to listening to your latest work of art (which they most definitely are).  -Bud |

Oh... my... Lord.... Wow is the right word! What wonderful news to come home to. First off, congratulations to the other two winners. A huge thank you to all of you majicatters who have been supportive of my music. And above all, a huge "merci beaucoup" to Yusuf for this very sweet accolade. Coming from my musical hero, which he has been as far back as when I was 10 years old, this is quite an honor and extremely heartwarming. Without going into too much details, let's just say that this is a balm on what has been a rather difficult year for me so far, this couldn't come at a better time. Now on a more trivial note, for the life of me I can't remember what e-mail address I entered for this contest. I certainly hope it's not the one that has been giving me problems lately and that I had to delete! Oh no!! ;D In any case, I'm easy to find.
