Christina, ahhhh( long sigh) beautiful Vienna, a city I will never forget, and one I long to visit again. Christina if it is your first time in Vienna, you can be sure it won't be your last. Austria is like a fairytale. Hope you have a few days to travel around Austria, it really is worth it.

christina, I'm sure when you arrive in Vienna there will be many daily tours, there is so much to see, but here is a link to the sites. www.wien-vienna.cdfoto.net/top10vienna.htmYes, cakes, and chocolates galore!!!!! Don't forget to try the famous Sacher Torte, and Viennese Coffee, maybe at the Sacher Hotel near the Opera House. Christina, museums to satisfy your every taste old, and modern. Just standing outside the grand Cathedral of Stephan will greatly overwhelm you, entering the cathedral, the magnifcance will be an experience you will never forget. I only had one day to live Vienna, but it left a great impression on me, we left the next day, travelled on to see the country side and the mountains. I don't know how many days you will be staying in Austria, but if you have time I hope you can make it to the Salzburg area, the land of the 'Sound of Music', and of course the home of Mozart. In 1987 we had a small camper van, like Yusufs VW peace van, but ours was a Mitsubishi, we travelled the whole region in the van which made it easier, and money saving....saw the 7 wonders of the Salzburg region, one, the ice caves, a chrystal palace, but you need to be top shape physically to make it, my husband never forgave me for persuading him to take the hike. Drove through the Grossglockner high alpine road, nearing Austrias highest mountain, the best experience ever!!! I thought Greece had mountain, but there are no words to describe these mountains, the alpine scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Bad Hofgastein, known for it's great natural thermal spas , great way to revive your tired body after so much travelling, and concerting, you wont want to leave. ;D There is a cheap public spa, called Thermen Tempel, it offers many facilties of private spas but more fordable. Christina, you have to see the region of Salzburg to believe it. I know doing this trip to Salzburg is difficult if you don't have many days, but think about it for a future holiday. I hope you all get a chance to meet and enjoy the wonderful city together, and of course there is no doubt Yusuf will amaze you, and his audience once more. Have a good night Christina.

Well, we've booked a train ride to Salzburg the day after the gig. 2 hrs 45 minutes, departing at 08.15, so a quick recovery after the night before. The description of Salzburg is as I imagine it. I hope the weather isn't too unkind. See you in Vienna, Christina.

oysterman, very happy to know you're going. Is it your first time? If you have company, it will be even better. The train journey isn't too long, so I hope Christina decides to go, if her days permit. I forgot to ask, as you have a great reputation on covering concerts, I hope you are totally prepared for this one too. Looking forward to your amazing videos ;D

I've been to Vienna but not Salzburg, hence the day trip. I'm going with my wife who is a real long term Cat fan. She has doted on him since way back. In fact, at the Royal Albert hall gig, when Yusuf reminded us of the foggy day in London in 1974, she shouted out 'I was there!' and Yusuf replied he was amazed the audience came. He looked at my wife (we'd moved right to the front) and said 'well, you came'. She's dined out on that ever since. Someone filmed it and it's on YouTube.
I spoke with Christina by phone so we'll meet up sometime whilst there.
The trusty camera will be there (I bought it for my wife but I like it better than my own) and I'll capture a few shots and films if I can. I only do a few per gig as I don't want to spend the night behind the lens. I'm front row in Vienna which is good (or bad if the security people are fussy). I hope you like all the other stuff on my YouTube channel. Its a varied mix and I've got more to come this year so will keep adding here and there if I get the chance.
Roll on Vienna!

We are doing Salzburg independently, train direct and then walking but I bought a Salzburg pass which gives unlimited entry to various attractions. We'll make it up as we go along. It doesn't seem to be a big city.
I just don't want to get into trouble taking photos/films etc. A pass would be nice but I'm hardly paparazzi!

oysterman, I know you and your wife will all fall in love with the city of Salzburg and the region of Salzburg. Nice to know you have made contact with Christina. Yes, I have enjoyed you videos many a times, and I will take note next time of that special video were Yusuf is adressing you wife, the great benefits of having front row seats, and front row seats in Vienna again, , hmmm, I hope your wife will be pleasantly surprised again. ;D Even if you don't have time to do all the sights, you will have seen enough to want to come back. christina, 6 days in Austria!!!very nice. I think Vienna has a transport pass that gives you free transportation around the city. Ask the hotel reception. Nice to know you may meet up with Oysterman and is wife in Salzburg. If you really have the energy to do the whole 7 wonders tour talk about it at a tourist bureau in Salzburg. Once you reach those Alpine mountains, your heart will want to sing out, "the hills are alive with the sound of music"!!!!!, (my first movie I saw as a child, and one of my favourites) or, "high on the hill there was a lonely goat, olay, olay, olay, eeh, hoo!!" ;D or if you feel a little melancholy,..."eidellweiss, eidellweiss", , well you sure won't feel like singing......" I'm just a woman in love", (well maybe you are, and I'm hoping you are ), but with that great voice you have been blessed with, it would be incredible to hear your voice echoing through the valleys...... "I'm just a woman in love"!!!!! Wish I was there to hear you. Now about Bad Hofgastein and the Thermen Tempel Spa, this town is a little out of Salzburg, but the whole area of Gastein, is so picturesque, try and make it, and the family run lodges are very well priced. Christina, whatever you manage to see and do, just relax and enjoy the last few days in Europe. All have a great time in Austria, and the concert!!! P.S excuse my spelling mistakes, especially St Stephens/ St Stephans.

What a night in Vienna .... Meeting Sylvia Oyterman and his lovely wife Barbara was an amazing get together prior to the concert .. I made a video ..hope to show u when I get back....
The Concert was filled with love love love ... it was like a sweet bavarian dessert 'Sachertorte Carke' ! so warmand wondrous .... and up close and personal..mmm thoroughly enjoyed it ..He was in such a fun and loving mood as always... concert started at 730pm.... I had a perfect seat row 9 in center ...oh it was lovely and the rows were much closer to the stage than the previous shows Ive attended .... He did not sing Sad Lisa and even tho I love that song .. hearing it once the way he does it now is enough for me for the moment. soo tenderly done ... that ... ... it pulls at my heartstrings so much .. s ... . prob since the death of my father. wellll............. Vienna realllly went wild for him ... He said he wont forget it ! He said it was getting hot in here tonight and it was!!! He took us to Greece with Rublove! they were throwing roses on stage and at the very end as a surprise I believe it was his daughter that allowed his grandchildren to come on stage .. and God Bless Them... they were adorable... that little Suleiman (sorry if not typed correctly) he looked like a buttered croissant ... soooo cute! as were the adorable little girls .. God Bless them all....and May Yusuf get a nice sunny vacation after this tour ... a very much deserved one!!! I got such a great glimpse of the black guitar strap with the carved dove and peace on front that I gifted him with along with a couple majicatters from Usa ... He sang with it in Wild World ,Father and Son, and the Moonshadow musical section to name a few places...
His rendition of King of Trees was so beautiful and he dedicted it to the trees..... it was lovely. he hits those high notes so vividly .. he painted such beautiful shades of verde green, and foreigner suite was lush.... and Angelsea ... ahhhhhh there are not words... ultimate! when he did ChangesIV it was high octane.,....all the way... oh and he took us all to Greece hahah he said lets to Greece and di an amazing version of Ruby Love...... veryyyy greek !!!!!! I was really getting into the greek kalmatiano rhythmn!!!! oxxoxo Ooopa .... truely a lovely concert .. I never can really compare concerts because I know that singers performers ... we all live off the energia and vibration that the audience brings to us .. and we form the night with what we bring too.... Vienna brought it ! and Yusuf always brings it .. like no one else ... xxo
I interviewed alot of people buying tee shirts and posters... and hope to show it to you when I return to the States... Salzsburg tomorrow for me and Prague on Thursday.... and Friday Nyc..... and my computer .. to write down alll my thoughts and feelings ....
Vienna ..you have a beautiful heart and you showed it tonight! God Bless you Yusuf! x
