Dear Christine,
Without your foresight during the bleak years of no music from Yusuf you had the inspired idea to set up a Cat Stevens website for those of us who loved his music. What a wonderful resource you continued to build for his fans!
Without you there would have been no outlet for us and who knows maybe it was you too that meant he reconsidered giving us the gift again that is his music.
Yusuf owes you a great debt.How else would he have filled his venues after those dark years?
The Majicat message board will be just one aspect of his growing fan site but you will always be the creator.
I hope we can live up to your expectations of us over the following years and hope that one day soon Yusuf (if he hasn't already) will be thanking Allah that you established Majicat.

Congrats, Jane and thank you for taking over this difficult job. All those fellows, who have withdrawn from here, will be onboarding again and the old spirit will come back soon.
Yusuf showed his appreciation by linking Majicat on his website. And as we all know he and his crew observed what's being posted and discussed here and even know our nicknames...
We have to stay/proof worthy of him/them :-)

Thank you, everyone. Really, I just think of myself as Chris, Annie and George’s helper. Their vision for Majicat will be reflected here on the forum. We all want the forum to re-attract those who no longer post anymore as well new members who appreciate Yusuf’s music as much as we all do. Does that mean there will be changes? Yes, it does, but the four of us believe those changes are for the better. In the meantime, it is the busy holiday season for us all so I have no timeline at the moment. Like life itself, I’m taking it one day at a time.

Hi all,
In answer to whether there will be changes on Majicat's messageboard, there undoubtedly will. These will please some and displease others but it's going to be simply impossible to please everyone and it's time for a new beginning. I stated before that I am trying hard to follow Christine's legacy by attempting to create what she wanted and it is with her wishes in mind that the changes will be made.
The Majicat community is a wonderful one. We can't tell you how many friends worldwide that Christine has brought together but, rightly or wrongly, Christine felt that the messageboard took away the importance of Majicat itself and that eventually was why she left. So, although we understand the importance of the messageboard to so many of you, we also hope that you understand the reasons why we have to implement changes and want to make you aware of this upfront so it isn't Jane and her team who field the flak!
It is beyond any doubt that the messageboard has become diverse and indeed off topic. People who come to the messageboard through Majicat have the right to expect that the content will be about Cat/Yusuf, his music and his life. The messageboard is there to support him and so many of you do that, it's great but things are wandering a bit too much.We have all made wonderful friends through Majicat, lifelong ones! In the days of Facebook, Twitter, Skype, emails and even the telephone we have so many ways of keeping instantly in touch with each other for"Off Topic" conversations.
So the off topic threads will completely disappear after a short period of time to allow you to browse through them and save anything of interest to yourselves. The Majicat Forum will once again be about Cat Stevens and Yusuf and all things related thereto.
We apologise to anyone who feels inconvenienced by this but we feel obliged to honour Christine's wishes in this matter. Incidentally, we agree with her and we hope you will too!

Hi Purplemoon,
Thanks for your suggestion but I am actually not sure that what you suggest is actually possible given the way the Forum is constructed by Proboards. We have given the responsibility of Majicat Messageboard to Jane who will be developing it herself with help and advice from many quarters. I am very sure that together we will create something which all Majicatters can be proud of.

Dear Chris, Is the new archive going to have an extensive collection of Yusuf Islam works ...his musicless works....and songs primarily associated with his Faith? I do so hope so....we so need to be inclusive of all his life's works to date.......leaving some space for the works yet to come..... |

I wish all of you the best of luck with putting the new website
together. May the bugs be few! May tech support be plentiful!
My one earnest hope is that all of the threads under the
"Majicat-Cat Stevens Message Board" heading – Song Discussions,
Cat Stevens, Those Great Concerts, Yusuf Islam, etc., will remain
intact or be accessible through an archive. Over the years, people
have contributed anecdotes, articles and references in those threads
that are not available in the main pages of majicat.com. I discover
new things in those threads every day.

Yes, I hope that it will have a full collection with mention of all related things that he has done through his whole career. Majicat will, we hope be a full resource site for all Cat/Yusuf fans, exactly as Christine wished and what she did so well. We will need help/information from all the many fans out there to find things for the site and to avoid stagnation.

Sorry I missed that post whilst typing. Everything Cat Stevens/Yusuf related, all those threads will remain as they are now. It's just things unrelated to cat Stevens which will disappear - don't worry about that. However we are in a process of transition at the moment and Proboards say they can handle the changeover of ownership without deletion, but, as they say in their terms, catastrophic situations can cause deletion so I urge people to save whatever they wish to keep now!
