I think most of us are in agreement, we would all love to see ABC In Concert released. But what other video would you like to see released?
For me it would be the Granada Concert
After seeing snippets of the Granada Concert here and there from such documentaries as 'The Island Story'. I just am fascinated by his performance of F&S swinging to and fro in his red jersey and I would just love to see the whole thing. I have always been intrigued by this particular concert.
Anyone else love the Granada snippet from the Island Story?

No that Vivian, my dear is greedy.

I've heard rumors via another Cat fan, That Cat and Marc Bolan (of T-Rex fame) jammed together in the family restaurant once or twice. If this is true, I would have loved to had heard these two playing together.
Can anyone colaborate on this rumor, if it was true or not?

Oh wow, Christine, I'm getting this visual of Cat and Marc Bolan jamming on "Bang A Gong"... Can you imagine??!
As for favorite video - well, I'd take anything! I just enjoy seeing him perfom his music - any of it. Although a video set sure is a nice idea.

Maybe we can set up a petition to get an ENTIRE VIDEO SET of EVERY SINGLE CAT PERFORMANCE EVER, INCLUDING the ABC in concert special! Now, I've read stories of how the master copy of the ABC special has "MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED"! Somehow, I feel someone is not being completely honest here! They, for some reason, are keeping it UNDER WRAPS! WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT!! PEACE,VIVIAN

Viv, I have always had a problem believing that the master tape of the "In Concert" thing was 'lost'. First there are bootlegs floating around containing some of the footage from that show. I have one with some of it. There are CDs out there with audio footage of the show out there as well. Where are the master tapes for these bootlegs? Now I just don't understand how such an important show could be lost. I read in a book on rock stars that that particular show was historical because it was the first time an entire television program was devoted to one artist and his work. No, I think someone is hanging on to the tape and maybe hoping to cash in on it one day. Now I am naturally suspicious of anything in the music business so I could be over-dramatizing here. Love A

A'isha, I was thinking the same thing! I have the same footage video! YES, someoone is being VERY SELFISH! I mean, they can make a FORTUNE RIGHT NOW if only they let the public have a chance to have THIS GEM! WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR?? Peace,Vivian

From what I know, the master of the ABC In Concert has not been lost or wiped?? In fact this concert was also distributed to certain countries in 1980/82 for screening. Copies of this concert have survived, and some actually include the entire show i.e. the Linda R. and Dr. John performances. Majicat has published video stills from this video showing extracts from the Foreigner Suite performance: majicat.com/photos/videostills.htmSo rest assured this performance has not been lost and hopefully in the not so distant future an official copy will be made available.

I sure hope you are right, Bootmeister! I KNOW it is out there as well, and I KNOw that would be SUCH A TREASURE, as would the BBC show showing Cat stumbling through BITTERBLUE! That would be SO PRICELESS! And what about the concert from FRENCH TV, in its ENTIRETY! My take that it must have been more than just four songs!
Peace,Vivian

Vivian, please don't tell anyone. I am going to whisper this idea to you. Shhhh, we don't want everyone to hear. When you see Yusuf in April drop a suggestion about releasing some of these concerts onto video and if you are clever enough you can drop hints at how much money can be made for his charities. So keep this under your hat and maybe you will be the one to suggest something to our friend which will feed alot of orphans. Love, A'isha

If this has been answered, I apologize, but does anyone know if any of the Majicat concerts were videotaped by CS's crew?

If this has ben answered, I apologize, but does anyone know if any of the Majicat concerts were videotaped by CS's crew? Hello Sue, To answer your question, 'The Behind The Music' - VH1 special and also the 'Good Morning America' interview last October or so, both showed a clip or two from a Majikat concert. Plus Yusuf mentioned once or twice in interviews that he ha some video's from his Majikat Concert Tour.

Thanks, Christine. I hope Yusuf will release all the video he has soon. He knows the interest is there from many fans especially the Mes Amis.

From what I know Williamsburg 22nd Feb. '76 is the concert that is being considered for release. If this release ever takes place is anyone’s guess, remember how long the box set took to come to fruition.
I am sure the powers that be are considering many audio/video options. I think most Cat fans would appreciate anything.

Bootmeister, you are correct when you say we would appreciate anything that is released. I surely hope it's in the works now and will be on the shelves this year. The interest in CS is at a high right now in my opinion due to the BTM documentary and of course the other projects that YI has been involved in this past year. Maybe MK could let us know if there is anything we can look forward to this year!
