This was sent to me to help announce a PRESALE of tickets on Wednesday March 11th exclusively for Yusuf fans, and then again on Thursday on the Island Website. Goodluck to all who can attend, and have fun!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Island 50 Tickets Presale | Yusuf Yusuf, the artist also known as Cat Stevens will be taking part in a series of special concerts in May to mark the 50th anniversary of Island Records. He will be performing on Thursday 28th May at London's Shepherds Bush Empire, with Baaba Maal as his supporting act. Fans can purchase exclusive presale tickets from 9am on Wednesday 11th March by clicking here (the link won't be live until then). Sign up at island50.com to receive updates and access to Island's own Thursday presale. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 13th March. |

I am so jealous of all those who will be able to attend one of these concerts. I do hope that Yusuf tours in Australia in the not too distant future!!!

I just got tickets for Regii, Bill and myself!!! Woo Hoo!!! So happy you are coming Joanne,  I saw that Christiane, is also coming, and I expect Helen, will be too Rubylove 25 Marie, can't make it this time  Doreen, are you coming? Any more? Maybe we should celebrate Yusuf's birthday while we are all together too!!! ;D Although I know May, will be a little early Getting really excited now!!! ;D ;D ;D I just checked again, PRE SALE ALLOCATION SOLD OUT!!! |

Whew that was fast!! But don't forget if you didn't get tickets today... thereis another presale tomorrow (Thursday) on the Island website. So try it again tomorrow. I am with Margi, I am so envious of you all. So, take lots of picures for us.  |

Missed the pre sale today but not going into work until after 9 tomorrow to try and get tickets keep figers crossed - hopefully see you again Joanne havent seen you since Royal Albert Hall, love to see Doreen again and all Mes amis Im so excited already

I had to get up very early (4am here!) but I got two tickets!!
Now I just have to get to London!

This was perfect, but I can already see a potential fiasco brewing....My wife & I are in Ireland from May 13-June 1 on vacation. So I just got 2 tickets to the show!!! I am so excited. But then I see "tickets will be mailed 2 weeks before the show"...which is no good since we will be travelling. I didnt forsee them not having a "print at home" option. So now I just had to email the customer service in a panic....I also have their international phone # to call them. HOPEFULLY it is not a big deal and they just will call them for me
I cannot believe I am this close to finally seeing this man in concert

I hope they broadcast some of these concerts. Two of my favorite bands, Bob Marley and U2 were on Island as well.

If only Island would take this event to Australia as well But that said, I do hope that everybody else has a wonderful time! I am certain that he will come out to Australia not too long after the album release.  What do you guys think? Yusuf enjoyed his time in Australia back in the 1970s, right? I mean he was one of our most popular artists back in the 70s, with number ones in 1971, 1972,1973 and 1974- in 1972 he was the the top of the charts for the year. One in two Australians owned a Cat Stevens album- his Tea for the Tilerman DVD was recently in the top five, beating some Andre Rieu DVDs. I am so happy for everybody who is going to England to see this great man, I just hope that the opportunity arises for me someday- If you get to meet him, can you please ask on behalf of Margi and I whether he will tour in Australia? |
