It seems you have been away from Majicat for quite some time, or it slipped your mind that there was a discussion a while back about the 9Lives demo tracks. You will find it if you search the message board. I think it was under the Cat Stevens topic, page 2, thread 'What do you make of this?' Now I would like to thank you for the links to these songs. I did not realize they have been put up on youtube. Was this a recent find? Maybe I wasn't aware of this. Anyway, it's great news. The review was also very good. Thanks again Polygor.

Thank you, thewind. First time I heard the whole song. Do you know what Cat says at the end? - maybe it's just nonsense sounds ~Sun~

I think he says: "I think I could've done that a bit better" or something along those lines, I'm not sure... I could be referring to a different song though.

Soitis Hi Soitis, If you go to the message board, click on the subject 'Cat Stevens', then go to page 3 where it says the topic, 'What do you think of this?', you will find many pages refering to the songs from the 9 lives demo cd. Maybe you will find some answers there to your question.

I have all the songs from this CD on box.net if anyone wants to download them. I paid way too much for the bootleg CD on eBay, and no one should have to do that. When this first surfaced a few months ago, many of us thought that a small donation to Small Kindness might be appropriate in return for having these songs, since these are Yusuf's songs, but not his CD. Please consider doing that if you choose to download them, and please do enjoy them! I was just listening to this CD tonight - it is a gem! Download here: www.box.net/shared/ct3drgty9uPS - I just realized they are not in mp3 format, but playable in at least iTunes that I know of. I will convert them to mp3 tomorrow and upload them again.

Thank you so much for putting these up! Does your cd have a song called The Fisherman? I've never heard that song but I've seen it mentioned, maybe on majicat I'm not sure. I've got an awful fading monitor and I need to shake it sometimes to make it visible and by the time I see what I want to see, I forget what I was looking for! :/ As for making a donation to SmallKindness.org I happily gave my Christmas money to them in January of this year because my dad died before Thanksgiving last year and his funeral was on my birthday and for some reason, all I can stand to listen to ever since he died is Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam and it makes me feel better which makes me happy and grateful to the man who created the music so to thank him for helping me through this I sent his charity my Xmas money. Not that he knows it but I hope when he sees money come in from all over the world he knows how much he's loved.

Definitely download all of them, though; there is such a purity to them that to me is quite special. I like the demo version of "How Can I Tell You" even better than the version that ended up on Teaser and the Firecat. I really like the way his voice sounds on the demo. I think he definitely knows that the donations coming in from all over the world are from his fans, and that we want to support his cause.

Wow I LOVE hearing these songs with his voice so simple and pure. THANK you for putting them up! But I couldn't find "The Fisherman" anywhere. It looks like the track listing is missing some songs but I may be looking in the wrong place. I'm not real good at this techie stuff! Do things disappear off that "box" website after awhile?

Hi SS,
I am not sure what I did wrong - I must have been doing too many things and going too fast, but I did miss uploading 3 of the tracks. All 15 are up there now, including The Fisherman and How Can I Tell You. Enjoy!

Thank you for the link to these "embryonic versions" (I love the way the author of the accompanying CD description put that!) of Yusuf's classic Morgan Studios demos, katre. "Welcome, welcome, welcome" to Majicat... You'll absolutely, positively love it here (or my pseudonym isn't Sir Lorry Load!). ;D -Bud
