How can I tell you is possibly the most beautiful love song ever. Katmandu, Sad Lisa, Trouble, ; I could go on too long..Ruins- Did you guys like how it was used in that MTV Cat Stevens show a few years back? Powerful song.

Everday day I enjoy this video The Foreigner SuiteIt is a wonderful video with a wonderful Cat! Maybe some songs from "Catch Bull At Four" are a little bit underrated. I love them all. "Can't keep it in" is so dynamic and Angelsea, The Boy With....., Silent Sunlight are so beautiful. "Lilywhite" and "Fill My Eyes" (Mona Bone Jakon)are my favourites, too. The guitar and the violins in Lilywhite........

I think The Hurt is seriously under-rated. After many years resistance I first started to really appreciate this song when i saw it on the MajiKat DVD.
Frankly I couldn't give a fig what the radio chooses to play - this site is the strongest critical commentary on Cat's work, but I don't think i've ever seen more than two words on The Hurt. How Can i Tell You, by contrast, is obviously a favourite for all true Cat fans, and regularly features on "best ever Cat songs" lists.
I agree that Father is similarly neglected in any appraisal of Cat's work. Ditto Randy , yet to get a mention.

Personally, I think all songs that didn't make it to the top ten are underrated! Seriously, though, I really like A Bad Penny. There's something baroque or even Bach-like about the music. Cat/Yusuf is/was up there with classical composers...truly a legend in his own time. I wonder if this song was also about Patty D'Arbanville. Does anyone know? www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVf_HhnEDZs

"hurt"... I like the fact that you single out so many obscure songs. I don't agree on the specific choices, but you appreciate songs regardless of popularity and I respect that. And your user name refers to one of the most under-appreciated songs! "The Hurt" always struck me as a song that could have been in Harold and Maude yet wasn't.
The two 1970 albums (apart from "Wild World") are the height of his songwriting, but they're not what he's known for. What he's known for are the three hits from Teaser and the Firecat.
