Here's an interesting quote from the Republic article that Anette (Butterfly) told us about: This is an new article about Yusuf with an interview, where Yusuf describes his plans in future!!!! Back In The SpotlightQ: There are a lot of great songs on the album and the DVD, but how did you come up with the concept of "Heaven/Where True Love Goes?" Part of it was built around a portion of one of your older songs, "The Foreigner Suite." A: That's an interesting question because that song was written for a musical I am working on called "Moon Shadow." It's a complex sort of story but it's about someone who is looking for a perfect world and he's going through all these trials in order to reach his ultimate goal. And of course at some point there's a relationship with his childhood love and that's the story in the background. So that song in a way is fulfillment of his love, as well as his finding his spiritual heart. I wonder if Yusuf would use "Saturn" in his "Moon Shadow" musical, even though he didn't write it himself? Do you think it's "Moonshadow" or really "Moon Shadow" (a la "An Other Cup")? ~Sun~

Hi, Anette! Thank you for these links - they’re good. They’re not about Yusuf’s new musical, Moonshadow (I think it’s supposed to be one word), but about an (apparently) Australian, biographical musical called Moonshadows: a Magical Tribute to Cat Stevens. Yusuf’s musical is very different, I think, since it has those two characters, Moonshadow and Stormy (sounds like it could be animated!), and from what I’ve read, is not a biography per se, but is only loosely based on Cat/Yusuf’s life. I agree that the 3 videos are very nice; “Father and Son” is actually quite touching. Darren Coggan, who stars as Cat, is very sincere, though he tries a bit too hard to look, act, and sound like Cat. His performance leaves me with the vaguely dissatisfied feeling one gets from a copy versus the original. I take exception to this quote from A copy Cat emerges out from the Moonshadows: “ . . . Moonshadows . . . details his lesser known journey of personal discovery — including two near-death experiences — that led to Stevens' rejection of music . . .” since Cat did not categorically reject music, but just made a personal choice to avoid the typical lifestlye of superstars. I like: "I think he could be a serious force in re-educating the Western world on the Islam[ic] faith," says Coggan. "That's my own opinion of what this new album [ An Other Cup] is about." I’d add that Yusuf can also help the Islamic world to better understand the West, so we can all recognize our common humanity. Thanks again, Anette. ~Sun~

Thankyou for the links Anette. Last week one night, I made a post in deatail about how I always invsisioned 'Foreigner Siute' as being a number for a musical. The next morning, I deleted the post thinking it might seem I was getting carried away with my imagination again. I doubt if anyone saw it. Anyway, after reading the first post of this thread, I'm happy, because I was not that way off with my imagination afterall. Hope I get the chance to see the musical when it hits the stage. I wish it every success.

Thankyou for your thoughts. I hoped no one would have time to see it because it was late, but Australia is 9 hours ahead, and I gather you are an earlybird. Have a good day Paulo.
