Despite heartbreak as a major theme of the evening, spirits were high all night. For Crow's cover of Cat Stevens' "The First Cut is the Deepest," opener James Blunt came out with a rose, and the two slow-danced before Crow jokingly ripped his shirt open. And local singer Brandi Carlile stopped by to lend her lovely voice to "If It Makes You Happy." Here they are from the Portland show. If they release this a country duet it will be a hit all over again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8mjC4_gpH0

Mmmmmm not too sure Sue, I really like Sheryl Crow, not at all keen on James Blunt though, but that's just my personal opinion It probably could do well though as he is very popular here in the UK, as is Sheryl!

Wait and see. If it's that popular on tour it will turn up somewhere.

It's still great to see young artists reviving unforgettable CAT songs. I see it becoming a new trend. His music still has a place, even more now. Can you imagine turning on the radio and hearing his songs again, whoever the artist might be. It will be wonderful to see my children singing his songs, and maybe even my grandchildren. Long live his music!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if it was Sheryl Crow with Eddie Vedder singing a Cat song... YES, I would definately take a listen, or Sheryl with John Mayer or anyone else. But I just can't take James Blunts high pitched voice. I gues he is one of those love him or leave him behind type of singers.

I like a lot of people. At least he writes his own songs. The one with the high pitched voice that I can't stand is STING. Yecch...

Actually I saw the Police when the Go Go's opened for them in the early 80's. I saw him on the Amnesty International tour with Springsteen, etc etc. I like Message in a Bottle but Roxanne probably has the same effect on me James Blunt's Your Beautiful has on you guys.
I don't know, I just think he's narcissistic, what with saying he can have sex for hours, etc, like who would want to? Baaarf.
Once I was in a small club in Santa Monica CA to see a South American band and he came in at like 1:00 am and we didn't get out of there until 4:00 am. I guess being up close and personal I had never really realized that he just plays bass.
It was so foggy by the time we got out, like pea soup, we were lucky to get a taxi back to Hollywood. I guess you could say I got "Stung".

Sue - Roxanne is still one of my favorites and is my ringtone for some of my friends! I guess if we ever meet in person we will have enough Cat/Yusuf music to be safe!
