That first side! Whistlestar > Novim's Nightmare > Majik of Majiks > Drywood: PERFECTION. But then it all falls apart with Banapple Gas. Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but it never should've been on the album. If ever there were such a thing as a perfect B-side this is it. "Free Love and Goodbye" something is off about this song to me... but I can't put my finger on it. Both Jzero and Home are brilliant and almost worthy of side 1, but then Monad's Anthem has to come along and ruin it all. Argh.
What could have been...

Are you nuts? That's the only good song on the album besides maybe Jzero!

Are you nuts? That's the only good song on the album besides maybe Jzero! I strongly suggest you listen to the other songs over and over again. Read the lyrics over and over. You'll see.

"That first side!" Nice to see someone still thinking in terms of LPs...

If you look at the lp you can see that the B side is actually marked ''side 0'' which is fitting for the album haha.

"That first side!" Nice to see someone still thinking in terms of LPs... The funny thing is I don't even have the album on vinyl (I do love the format, though) but was listening to those 4 songs and thought to myself, gee I wonder if this takes up side a on the record, checked google and found it did.

I read once that Drywood was one of Alun Davies favorite songs, well at least at the time of the article.
I have to agree about side 1 of numbers, it has some of Cats most powerful lyrics. I definately think Home belongs on side one.

Side 2 flows better to me. Side 1 is too serious for the casual listener and Drywood falters in the middle IMO.
