I walked into Barnes & Noble, I plunked my plastic down, I paid for it, I went home, I took my time, I savored the packaging, I cut it open carefully, I took the book out of the plastic covering, I held the book in my hands, I thought "this is utter class", I ran my hand over the cup, then I opened it up. Took the CD out, put it in the drive, and went straight to
There Is Peace.
By the second minute I had tears streaming down my face. I played it again. And again.
There Is Peace is a deeply moving song. I believe it has touched and will touch many people's lives the way it just touched mine. I can't go into all of it here, and I don't need to because everyone has their own special story. I think it will be a classic.
Thank you, Brother Yusuf. You are right.
There is no arguing with a song.

You know, I really can imagine this song being sung in a Catholic church during mass. I don't see why not. Not all of our songs mention Jesus. Some are purely O.T. inspired.
I love the harp!
Beautiful work, Yusuf. Very, very touching and from the heart... You're such a beautiful person for writing this song. Thank you.

It is a great song (I heard it on his website), but where I live it isn't included on An other cup...real shame, why didn't they make one of the slightly weaker tracks a bonus instead of one of the best songs from the whole CD?

It's called Marketing. They will probably include it as an "unreleased" track on some future compilation CD.

Yep; I despise that practice. So tacky. BTW, I love the harp (in TIP). So "heavenly". Wait... sonic imagery! (oh,... I already said that... I must get a grip on myself)

is a very nice song but for some reason the melody reminds me of i dont know yet what other song, and not a cat stevens song
i think that the perfect ending of an other cup is with Greens sands, There is peace and Green sands one after the other, they are too similar lyrically and musically, There is a peace should be inserted in another moment of the album, or vice versa

I suppose that's true Walter. Interesting point. I must admit I am pretty confused as to the various formats out there.

It seems as though Yusuf has a lot of control of the marketing due to the connection between Polydor and Ya Records. I believe the end justifies the means in this case, since it appears that much of the profits go into worthy projects such as education and charity. Hopefully Ya Records has at least a 50% interest. Does anyone have information on this? Hopefully Yusuf is satisfied with the way Polydor is running their end.

I love the whole CD. I can't say which song(s) I like the best. Each song has its own unique style. I think that it is cool that Yusuf used so many different styles of music on this compilation as a diversity of music and yet in a unifying theme. Great work!
