OK, so I haven't noticed much in the way of sonic imagery YET, but I'm sure I will as time goes by. That's part of the fun of listening to an album over and over again. New stuff pops out at you all the time that you never noticed before.
I will say, though... that I find Midday to be very "breezy" in its style. Which serves as a perfect backdrop to the "I love to feel the ocean blowing in my face" poetics...
Lovely.
Speaking of wind... I find it interesting also, that while the opening song references a breeze, the closing song does the same. "Let the wind blow hard, I don't mind..."
I wonder if Yusuf himself even noticed this! (I'm sure he planned it all along... )
BTW, I think the track order is perfect.
Going to pick up my limited edition CD now. Yea!
Finally!

I really like watching the children playing in the rain (and that thought is an image when I hear Yusuf sing about it) the splashing, the joy, the exuberance, it's all contained in a few words and melody. Laurie
