Ok gals and guys. Here's my latest, an instrumental version of "Novim's Nightmare". Wow Glaucus, that is exquisite! In fact, I prefer this arrangement to the original. (Love for classical guitar showing here ... ) You can really appreciate how beautiful the melody is. Sometimes less is more. This is one of those times. Wow!

A delight, Charles! I wish I could play as well as that. I have a great Gibson guitar but haven't had much time to play it yet. I only got it just before we moved house. It's motivation to practice I find hard! Anyway what you have treated us to was lovely! Well done and thanks!

Absolutely beautiful Glaucus ( Charles)!!!! Thankyou for sharing, Beautiful arrangement, beautiful sound, to warm us through the night. Did you also play, and record the accompaning music on the electric piano/organ, and playbacked it while you played the guitar? Sorry don't know the right musical terms. Even though I was lost in the music, I couldn't help but notice a poster on the wall. I don't have to guess who that is. ;D I know I may seem nosey, but are they calender months below the poster? Did Cat Stevens ever have a calender printed out that I don'y know about?

Did Cat Stevens ever have a calender printed out that I don'y know about? I'm a bit pressed by time so I'll come back later to thank everyone but I have to answer this question from Vicky. I was wondering when someone would mention the poster. That was my little "clin d'oeil" (wink) to you majicat guys and gals! That was probably the most circulated Cat Stevens poster in the 70s, at least in North America, as it was included with the "Greatest Hits" LP. I've always assumed the photo was taken during the Bamboozle tour in Hawai. Underneath are the lyrics for each of the 12 songs and it is presented in the form of a calendar.

Charles thankyou for the information regarding the poster. Unfortunately I was not aware of this poster, and even if I was, I don't think my dad would have been too happy if I had this hanging on my bedroom wall. ;D Hmm, I think you may be right assuming it was Hawaii, I think he is very appropriately dressed considering the tropical climate. ;D Where's Rechina, I think it will be torture seeing this poster, no restraining her now, maybe it wasn't such a good idea. ;D

Huge thanks to Novim (Chris), M, Richina, ilovemycat, Vicky and MikeW! The response has been great. It was really cool to record this one. I think if there were any doubts that this man and his music have had a profound effect on me as a musician, they are all dissipated now. Chris (Novim), I had a special thought for you recording this one. I hope we can hear you play that Gibson some day. And my fellow canuck MikeW, keep up the good work with your band, looking forward to hearing more from you. Special thanks to aurarisma as well. You guys are great!

Charles, The very first word that sprung to mind when I viewed, and listened to, your masterful rendition of "Novim's Nightmare" was "brilliant". As in the word's very meaning and definition: "Brilliant" (p. pr.): Sparkling with luster; glittering; very bright; as, a brilliant star. Moving along to the word "talent" in my handy dictionary, your very name was listed there. So excellently done! So extremely, yes, "brilliant"! -Bud

I do own that poster, but have to keep it locked in the album sleeve from whence it came, in order to protect it from the onslaught of drool! There are some other pics (in the "Zimmering" tour program) that kill me even worse (if you can believe that)! ;D Don't worry, I've survived all these years....guess I'll make it a couple more! Thanks for worryin' about me!

Many thanks to Sun, Maya, Sabina and Jane! Your nice comments means a lot to me. It's even more satisfying when your work is recognized by Cat fans, the toughest public to please since you all know these songs very well. Also thanks for your comments on my other covers. I recorded "How Can I Tell You" three years ago. I had just picked up the guitar again after a hiatus of about five years. I had to let go of the piano and guitar because of chronic pain in my neck and right arm. Fortunately, I'm able to play again, with moderation. It's actually hard for me to watch those covers from three years ago, all I see and hear are the mistakes, the hesitations, etc. I think I'm like Steve/Yusuf, a perfectionist! ;D There is a good chance I will redo these songs with more ease in the near future. And with better equipment and instruments. Thanks again majicatters, you're the best bunch on the WWW! P.S. Thanks to everyone who left a comment or voted on YT, much appreciated!
