I asked my wife to take a photo of our son Richard and I.
I didn't tell her why.
If you are at the first Melbourne concert (Wednesday) and see security run to a woman in the front row who faints, you will know why.
Look out for 'Stuart & Richad' !

Paulo and Marshall (or is it Stuart?) - I hope your pictures are chosen for projection during "Father & Son." That would be absolutley fantastic. I have such a strong feeling that Yusuf and Yoriyos will sing "Father & Son" together, maybe as a bridge between Noxshi's performance and Yusuf's. We'll have to wait and see, but it will be a truly momentous occasion if they do. ~Sun~

I feel like a lone wolf here, but I actually don't want Yoriyos and Yusuf to sing that song. The song is about a father and son who are at odds with each other, the son is saying that his father/parents don't understand him. That is not the case with Yusuf and Yoriyos, and is the reason that Yoriyos himself gave as the reason he doesn't necessarily want to sing it with Yusuf. I get the title "Father & Son" makes it seems like a great idea, but the song itself doesn't fit them at all. I would love to see them sing together - just not that song.

Please don't feel like a lone wolf, Jane - many, including Yoriyos, have expressed the same viewpoint, and these points are well taken. To me, it's just that a song doesn't have to be autobiographical for someone to sing it. Even when Yusuf first sang it, it wasn't autobiographical - it was about the Russian Revolution. And I think that the strength of the relationship between Yusuf and Yoriyos is obvious enough to everyone, so that we'll all know they're not singing about themselves, but just playing the parts of father and son. It's also possible that they might edit the lyrics, as Yusuf has done with some of his other songs. Who knows. I'd love to hear then sing "Father & Son" but I'm actually very flexible on this, and I'm with you in just loving it if they'd sing a song together. It'll be interesting to see what happens. ~Sun~

Well since Yoriyos himself doesn't want to do that song with his Dad, it's pretty much a non issue. His reasoning does make sense. So which song, you ask, well, I've been thinking. Remember the Year of the Child concert, when David Esses came out and helped Yusuf sing his final song as Cat Stevens(CHILD FOR A DAY) I think this song would be perfect, kind of be the "All in the Family" song this time around. It was written by Brother David Gordan, and what if they have Yoriyos join Yusuf at the same point David Exxex did all those years ago, and for an extra touch, what if they show pics of Yoriyos growing up from boy to man. I think this would be perfect!

Vivian, I think you nailed it! That would be the perfect song. How about showing pictures of both Yusuf and Yoriyos growing from child to adult?
Nice one, Vivian!

We are the men who worry of nothing We are the men who fight without aim We listen to no one, yet speak of our wisdom We are the pawns in the game ..... When you scrutinise most songs there will be lines that don't fit in with Yusuf's and Yoriyos'biography. To me Father and Son is not about a bad relationship, it is about the natural caution of age versus the passion of youth. Haven't we all advised our children who we love so dearly to be cautious sometimes when they clearly wanted to throw caution to the wind? And did our parents not do the same thing for us when we were teenagers? I think there is a lot of love in 'Father and Son'.
