What I do not understand is that firstly tickets are sold out that's when fans feel they have to buy tickets off e bay. Then somehow further tickets are now available due to the huge demand. I am sure extra seats were not put into the venues ? So why don't they release them from the start?

I am sure extra seats were not put into the venues ? So why don't they release them from the start? Fair question. Australian promoters usually will have a second 'release' od tickets, I am not sure why. Usually they are 'view impaired' seats. I may be wrong (I usually am-ask my wife) but they could be buy-backs from the secondary ticketers. Then again it could just be the promoter playing funny buggers.

Marshall - I think you are at least partially correct, but often tickets for very good seats are simply not released until later. I have experienced that here in the US, sometimes as late as 1-2 days before a show. I don't get the point of that. I also think that some of these seats may be partial-view seats as well. Whatever they are, it seems clear that Yusuf is hearing loud and clear that he is in high demand and hopefully he will demand better for his fans when he comes to the US. That's right, I said "when..."

Oh, sorry Marshall - WELCOME! I pop in here to Majicat while I am at work and don't have very long. Sorry to have completely lost my manners. I promise they are usually better than that.
Welcome to my favorite place - I hope you like it here!

Regii, I will never lose faith in the hope of seeing him again. If it is not the US, then I guess I just have to come to Europe again. Oh, what a shame that would be!

That's right, I said "when..." Australian ticketing is not as nefarious as that in the US although with Live Nation recently setting up shop here I doubt whether that will last long. Subsequent 'releases' will typically have a thin mix of OK seats (e.g. a scattering of seats in the last 2/3rds of the floor). From what I have been read about the US, the mix is even higher. Some say it is to get the word out that 'good seats still available'. A lot of people are reluctant to purchase late as they suspect only the nose bleed seats are left. If people are able to get decent seats at the eleventh hour, word of mouth encourages people to at least try. Once offered tickets they are more likely to pick them up even if they are nose bleeders.

Welcome to my favorite place - I hope you like it here! Jane Why thank you so very much Jane. I'm a big fan but am not worthy of tragic status. I've listened to him for about 30 years. I sing his songs in the shower during full moons or, when I am very drunk. Memory is an funny thing, I remember all the words to songs I learned 30 years ago but now, if I play a new CD 5 times a day for a month I won't remember anything other than the occassional line. Thanks for the welcome.

Sorry to pop in so late, but my hubby just got back in town with his laptop. I believe the extra tickets are coming from seats that Yusuf didn't want previously filled. If you looked at the venue seating charts you'll notice that the seats on either side, and behind the stage, were blanked out. I have personally sat in these "limited vision" seats and was not dissappointed. It seems that where ever the audience is the performer will spend some, at least a little, time playing to them. It's a great way to get seats that are close to the stage, yet not so expensive. Worked for me!! WHEN he comes here, I'll take whatever I can get....hee hee, as long as it's on the front row!! ;D
