Hi all...this is George Papailias. I perform as Cat in the Cat Stevens Tribute Band. I hope you can make it to our gig in Nevada City on Sunday, April 29th. I've always been told I sound like him ever since I started playing his music after seeing him play in 1971 at the Berkeley Community Center. Now I have a band of really good musicians and we make every effort to play Cat's songs as they were originally recorded. People tell us they can close their eyes and it's just like hearing Cat Stevens. Nothing makes me feel better than that but I have always loved his music and never tire playing his songs. Come out and see us...would love to meet you! |

Hi George - welcome! I went to your site and listened to the samples. They're very good! If I lived anywhere near where you play, I would definitely be there! Do you have any YouTube videos or complete audio tracks you'd like to share? Also, there is another member (Eduardo) who lives in Portugal who has a tribute band - here is a link to their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/manyyearsafterPerhaps we'll all meet someday if/when Yusuf comes to the states to play for his fans here. Just checked out your links. Your band sounds great. Too bad I'm so far from you cause it would be a fun night listening to you play cat songs all night. Seems like Yusuf will never get here and you guys might be the next best thing. |

Thank you so much for your kind words. We'll consider playing anywhere if at least our costs of playing there are covered. Perhaps you can drum up enough Cat Stevens fans in New York for us to come to you??? That would be fun!!!! We'd love it!!!
