Late Friday night of last week was when I first got wind of the gig, via the web. “WTF?” thought I. “What kind of advance notice is this?” Grrr! Joanne, I'm glad I wasn't the only one to feel this way. All the more reason to admire your tenacity and fortitude .. but I also envy your propitiousness as a Cat fan! How can one Cat fan get so lucky so many times in 5 years! I still need to read your entire account... (after I fiinish sulking...) Well, damn, Lucy - I admire your vocabulary! Luck may have played a huge role in the last-minute airfare availability - and the reasonableness of its cost - but the not-so-small kindness of another is the only reason I was able to attend this most recent gig. -Joanne

As for the lack of advanced notice, I gather Yusuf is not thinking people are ready willing or able to fly across the ocean for what was probably planned to be a small local performance. Myself, I have to many committments for that. BUt I am going to be in the north of England in May....come on Yusuf how's about it?

Thanks for your great photos, Marier. And thanks to Joanne for posting them. I really enjoy seeing all the photos! Even if some seem the same, they aren't really, because in all the different photos, the expression on everyones face is slightly different. The photo of the stage area is a great shot. It looks beautiful.
Is that David in the first photo? I think it looks like him, but it is a little hard to tell.

What a fun thread. I was upset to read that a reviewer actually wrote about no alcohol in a seeminly unfavorable way. Ironically, I have never seen a review of Aerosmith criticizing them for cutting alcohol sales during their performances. There are a few other bands that do this too (but I can't remember them right off.)
Congrats to everone who got to meet Yusuf and Company. Meet & Greets are fun. Thanks for the reviews & pix too. I'd much rather read a review from a fan than some of these journalists.
Peace. ~ A

From the article - "The new songs, such as "I See the Light" and "Beloved", tended to merge into one another. The crowd remained patient and reverential - like a congregation -" What is wrong with these reviewers, how could I Think I See The Light merge into the Beloved. Patient and reverential like a congregation, what planet is Ben Walsh on? "And at least the new songs are blissfully short, even though a couple of the more fatiguing numbers had to be repeated for the TV people." WHAT fatiguing numbers had to be repeated, as far as I can recall Father & Son was one of the songs, I've never heard it described in that way before. I think the audience would have been more than happy (not too sure about Yusuf though if far more had been repeated. There was an audible sigh at the end of the evening when the BBC announced the recordings were ok and we could leave, we're a greedy bunch ;D

Cristalina, your comments are "spot on", and we should know If one of us Yusuf/Cat fans had written the reviews people would have got a truly accurate report!!
