Hi everyone,
I am really sorry to have to tell you some really bad news but my dear friend Don who was working to help me to update the site has recently been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and has only a few months left. He is a close friend and I am so sad for him. The problem re Majicat is that he was the brains behind any redevelopment - only he knew what he was doing and, within the space of a week he has totally forgotten how to use a computer and all his passwords. he doesn't even know what a password is! He is a brilliant man and I'm really going to miss him!
By far of less significance, the problem with Majicat is that, because of the way it was constructed, it's not possible to simply cut and paste information onto a new site and that's what Don was working on. All that work is gone for ever now and we are back to square one! Majicat works, I'll still maintain it and update it but the look will be the same for some time, I'm afraid if not permanently! I'll still need your input to keep it relevant!
Many thanks for listening and for your support!
Chris

I'm saddened to hear of your dear friend's illness. Try to stay strong and know we are thinking of you both. And Chris, though we don't say it often enough...we appreciate everything you do! Not to worry, the site will be fine. You just take care of your friend.

Salaam,
My heart sank when I read your post - I'm deeply sorry to hear such bad news.
Like you say Majicat is the far less important matter here, I hope you cherish the time left you have with him.
God bless.

One thing I know I can always rely on is the dear friends I have met on Majicat. That is why I opted to continue with dear Christine's legacy. She helped to unite a unique group of people. Thank you so much for your kindness and I'm sure that your thoughts and prayers will strengthen Don in his final days.
Best to all and heartfelt thanks!
Chris

Thank you very much for your kind words, Aurarisma. I'm deeply sorry to say that Don passed away a fortnight ago. There were over 200 people at his funeral! He was dear to so many people and we all miss him a lot. He'll be sorting out all the computers and websites in heaven now, I'm sure.
Very best regards and thanks again,
Chris

Hi Aurarisma,
It's all working for me! On the home page choose which your new topic is about e.g. Album and Song Discussions. Click that.on the next page select which sub topic best describes where you'd like to place yours and click that eg Random Song Discussions. Your next page should have a New Thread button allowing you to title your topic. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Very best regards and thanks again, Chris I am extremely sorry to learn of Don's passing, Chris. As a matter of fact, it was not until this very day that I spotted this thread, and I apologize for not having taken note of it, sooner. Knowing the quality of person that you are, I am sure that Don considered himself blessed to count you as a friend, and I am sure that this blessing was returned by Don in kind. What a great comfort you must have been during his final days. Your magnificent maintenance of Majicat is as fine a tribute to Don's memory as anyone could ever imagine. In closing, please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss, and my gratitude for so handsomely keeping our beloved Majicat up and running. -Bud
