Today begins the 2014 Football World Cup in Brazil, and O jogo bonito, the song composed by Yusuf for that event, did not see the light. I thought he was going to record it in studio and the song was going to be released before the championship started. It’s a pity it did not happen. I really love that song. I hope someday we can listen to it.

A keen Arsenal fan, our Cat, I believe! I'm sure he was looking forward to this event and what a shame that England got off yo a bad start! I never knew this song existed so thánks so much for sharing!
Now, what do you all think about Cat covering other artists' work on his new album? He always felt uncomfortable singing other people' songs so he rote his own, which were gems! I have mixed feelings. I loved Another Saturday night and I trust Cat to do justice to the songs he covers by putting his own interpretation on them. John Lennon loved people covering his songs as long as the interpretation was different. Otherwise, he opined, what was the point? It was just re recording one thing already done! Cat Stevens' songs were always original and brilliant, in my humble opinion. I just want to hear more self-penned work.
Any thoughts, Majicatters?
Best to all out there in cyberspace,
Chris

Tomorrow plays Uruguay vs. England I'm sorry Yusuf but, for this, I wish you bad luck.

Sorry, Yusuf. Don’t get mad, it's just a game.

Holding the shirt of the Brazilian football team, just before singing this song for the very first time (Sao Paulo, Nov. 16, 2013).

My thoughts are YOUR thoughts I am wondering, Chris and Monika: Does this indicate that _all_ of the tunes on Yusuf's upcoming recording will be covers?, or are some new, original songs going to be included, as well. Thank you! -Bud

Thank you! -Bud As to my own thoughts, I would always prefer that Yusuf include original, new material along with his cover versions. At the same time, Yusuf has never failed to create some interesting and worthwhile covers, indeed. -Bud
