All I can say is 'Wow, what an evening!' Anyone with tickets for the tour, you've got a treat in store. I loved the acoustic version of 'Heree Comes My Baby' and it was lovely hearing 'The Laughing Apple' whistled before Yusuf made his entrance. I believe Paul Samwell-Smith was in the audience. It's great that he's working with Cat again! (He doesn't seem to mind that moniker any more). Alun Davies was by his side once again. Wonderful to see them together! A reworked Bitterblue was interesting and I really enjoyed the new album played live. All in all wonderful! Time for bed but still buzzing! Chris

A simply staggering performance... Yusuf was cheered to the rafters both at the interval and at the end of the concert. At times it seemed that the whole period since his return to active participation in the music industry had built to this point, a sellout concert in front of his home town crowd. After the first couple of songs he asked if we were there to hear Yusuf or Cat Stevens, and the audience yelled for both. He was totally engaged from the start, and delivered both new and old songs with an astonishingly high level of commitment.
It was great to see Alun there throughout the set, and Yusuf looked over to him several times, the two of them together just as in the old days. And congratulations to all the band for their part in this awesome display. .
Looking back at the Yusuf's cafe dvd, i see Yusuf slightly tentatively adopting some of his old songs, seeing if he can still perform them. On old and new songs this evening, there was a Big Cat prowling that stage. .

I agree. Cat is back full throttle. The highlight for me was the whole of the new album performed live-with an amazing and strong voice, and the Peace train Encore was rousing and absolutely made me want to dance.

Last Love Song was sung so beautifully and he was so into the song it gave me goosebumps! Absolutely a highlight of the night for me. Then he followed that with Sitting! How good was that! His voice was powerful, controlled and never strained - it is back to his very best! Best to all, Chris

I saw the playlists on Facebook and was thrilled that he's playing so many songs. Thanks, all, for the reports--they're making me even more excited to see Yusuf in the coming weeks. Although I'm currently in London, I'll be going to the Paris and Berlin concerts.

And another review. Why are so many folk negative about new stuff? The reviews of the new album are excellent but he plays it live, which is how the blues is best heard, and folk complain. He played for over 2 hours and the new album is just over 30 minutes, so that meant over 90 minutes of familiar music. What,s to o complain about? Here's the link to a largely positive review. Strange to think that Tea for the Tillerman was once newly released. We're the reviews of the 'new' music when first performed so. negative then? www.theguardian.com/music/2014/nov/05/yusuf-islam-cat-stevens-reviewIncidentally, at one famous concert Neil Young played his entire new album much to the disquiet of his audience who kept demanding he play something they'do heard before. So he played the whole new album again! ?

I could not disagree more with this review. for me the new material was dynamic, showing off the power of his voice and lifting the whole set with its energy. The quality of the singing was outstanding in both sets. My husband also was really impressed with the new material and Yusuf's fierce delivery- and he likes Cat but is not a major fan. Again- quite a variance in opinion, with the Telegraph calling the performance majestic.

Father & Son
Hm... I do not know... maybe it is not good sound on this video... but his voice is a little bit too recitative this time?

Yusuf on his Facebook: "New songs played tonight: Thinking 'bout You, Sad Lisa, Trouble, Hard Headed Woman and Miles From Nowhere... What did I miss?" Well, did not expect "Hard Headed Woman", not at all

crobarbie, I didn't attend the show, as I live in the US but I often look at the website setlistfm and find recent concert setlists. This is what someone posted there as the setlist for the London concert from November 5: www.setlist.fm/setlist/yusuf-islam/2014/eventim-apollo-london-england-33cc0041.htmlI can't be sure of its accuracy; often these entries get updated and edited by other concert attendees. If anything, it seems the order of the songs listed does not seem to match up with what I see in the above video.

However I know Cat and dog Trap came very early on...and that I had to leave when Yusuf left the stage after Father and Son...I guess there was an encore..I missed it.... The whole concert was beautiful but I was so in the zoned in that I cant remember definite order of songs..sorry!! If anyone can tell me what happened after Father and Son I should be grateful....saw several Majicatters there...and I am sure some of them would be able to give a firm setlist...

Yes, I am checking the website setlistfm reguralry I agree with you, songs order of 2nd show is very strange, and also I am not sure or not if some songs are missing... but, we'll wait and checking for updates On the other side, I think that I will like more new songs to be mixed with olders, not to play new songs in a line

I imagine a Majicatter or 2 will come along and be able to give a listing of the songs.
My impression is that he's trying out various songs and orderings to see what works best. The various songs he has played so far is wonderful, new things, old favorites, other covers... I love the song "People Get Ready" and think it is very appropriate. I remember when it was a well-played video by Rod Stewart & Jeff Beck on MTV back in the day. I also think it is cool that Yusuf seems to have considered some of the recent song requests he has received from people on his facebook page. I know crobarbie and I are hoping to hear "Into White".
blossom, I'm so happy you enjoyed the concert. 'tis better to be totally "in the moment" than to have scribbled down a song list. Thanks for posting, everyone. It is very interesting to read about it all.

On the 5th Cat and the Dogtrap was not part of the encore set, so the list you refer to is not correct.
