Looks like I'll be going solo; only managed one ticket. Terribly excited, though, as the Wang Center is a stunning venue!

I'm going to the Boston concert. Solo as well. Not a problem though, we get to meet new people, and yes it does look like a beautiful venue.

I'm going solo to Boston from San Antonio. Another Majicatter (Andrea) and I are planning to celebrate afterwards - meet for drinks, coffee, or tea. If you want to join us, PM me. Andrea is up front and I will be in row 12, although I'm thinking of sitting in her lap during the show so I can get a closer look! Bawhahahahaha!

I'll be in row S, as in "Steven" so that's like what, row 19? So while you sit in Andrea's lap I shall keep your seat warm for ya. Just kidding, I'm okay with row Steve. It would be nice to meet up, I'll send you a PM.

I live in Boston and have been trying to get one ticket for awhile now. I've had a listing on craigslist for a couple months and have been offered a number of balcony seats, but truthfully, I would not be happy with a balcony seat and turned them all down. So... I'll arrive at the venue around 6pm and score a seat from someone who has a legitimate ticket... and who I can accompany into the theater. I hope it's not raining out like it is right now! Well.... if anyone does have an extra ticket (a good seat), you can email me at mwoods1052 at gmail dot com. Is anyone who attended the Wiltern Theater gig he did a few years ago also going to Boston show? I was there and it was a night I will never forget as long as I live! Richina and her sister were there (hi, Richina!) but I don't remember the other names who attended. We were all blown away by how we were treated... having our own tables with white linen and candles, in front of the velvet rope, while the movers and shakers had to sit behind us, hahaha. Cheers! Mary

Hi Mary... The rain is supposed to stop by tomorrow. You can also try the box office the day/evening of the show. Sometimes there are seats they've held for someone who cannot attend. Even if what they have is balcony, go for it. The venue isn't big, and balcony is better than not going at all. Good luck, again.
Oh, yeah, check Yusuf's facebook page. I have seen at least one or two people say they have a seat available for the show. You may have to look through all the posts from the past few days to find them.

Woo Hoo!! Box office just released tickets and I got Orch Center Row C, smack dab in the middle down front at cost! So excited! Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. And someone just emailed me that he has one ticket near there in row B at cost in case anyone is still looking. Contact me IFITZSO. mwoods1052 at gmail.com and I'll give you his contact info

Mary Hey Mary!! :)The El Rey show was most certainly unforgettable...especially waiting around afterwards hoping to get your artwork returned from backstage!(which you did, and autographed no less!) But as far as this tour goes...It ended up simply out of reach for me. Having to fly across the country, finding a pet sitter, timing of flights, cost of hotel, blah blah blah... I felt like it just wasn't meant to be. The universe seemed to be against me at every turn! I had been hoping Yusuf might add some dates in the southern part of USA for 2015. New Orleans, Dallas, Memphis, Mobile, etc....you know, places known for their love of the blues! But it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. *sigh* Who tours a blues album and doesn't go to Memphis or New Orleans...or anywhere in the South for that matter? Anyway, I think you should take any ticket you can get...You KNOW it'll be a great show, and since the venue is small I believe you'd be spellbound no matter where you were sitting (I know I would)! I'll be there in spirit...videos help, but we all know "it just ain't the same as being there"! Just read your latest post....YAY!!! for you Have a great time and tell Yusie I said Hi!!

Oh, wow... the Wang Theater is absolutely gorgeous! I didn't write down the setlist this time because I didn't want to be distracted. Just wanted to take it all in. A beautiful concert, with an adoring crowd. Of course my seat was located a mere 3 seats away from "PEACE TRAIN!!!!!! guy". Anyone who attended the show would know exactly who that is. He yelled out "PEACE TRAIN!!!!!" so many times. Reeeally loud. From where we were all sitting it was ear-splitting. I like how at one juncture Yusuf just said, "no." So funny. The man even yelled out "PEACE TRAIN!!!!" after Yusuf had already played Peace Train. Wha??
This is for blossom... Yusuf sang "All Kinds of Roses". I know you love that song. He also performed "Remember the Days of the Old Schoolyard" and added back in "Cat and the Dog Trap" and "Sad Lisa" (so lovely, that song). I like how he's been changing up the setlist at each show.
Early on in the afternoon I walked past Stefan the bass player and said hello. He's a shy fellow. A bit later I walked by Kwame the drummer. Such a sweetie, we had a nice conversation as he arrived at the venue. (Hi Kwame, it's Donna; it was so nice to meet you.) After the concert, just a quick "hi & thank you... nice show" to Alun, he's a nice man and I'm so glad I had the opportunity so see him perform, never thought I'd see the day. I think I met Yusuf's son during the show. Spoke to the mysterious young man and gave him something that I made. I may never know what came of that, but it was my way of expressing my gratitude.
I like how they play a variety of Cat Stevens songs on the overhead PA before the concert while we wait for everyone to arrive in their seats. (Like "Sun/C79, one of my faves). They even played "Hurricane John" by Yoriyos. yes. (on the PA system, I'm sayin')
I met so many nice people. Like Christina said of the Philly show, it was a feeling almost like being "family". The thing I noticed is that Yusuf has so many different types of people who share the same love of his music. Like he says in his song...
"All kinds of people, all kinds of people
All kinds of people make up my life.
All kinds of faces, all kinds of faces
All kinds of faces show me their love."
I will never forget the experience. It's so amazing to just listen to Yusuf sing the lyrics to these songs. I mean *really listen*. I audibly said "Wow".

I love Yoriyos' CD, and especially "Hurricane John" which Yusuf sings on as well!
