Hi, I'm Mark from England and a big fan of Cat. Interested in guitar playing and enjoy playing Cat Stevens music along with other singer songwriter/folkie stuff. Looks like a great forum!

Welcome to the forum Mark!
Hey, what kind of guitar is that pictured in your signature? What a beautiful design.

Hi t4tillerman, Thank you for the welcome. It's a great forum! The guitar shown in my avatar is a kind of replica of folk singer Donovan's Zemaitis "Blue Moon" guitar. It was made by my cousin as a surprise gift. A better picture here:

What a beautiful gift! Nice. I love the moon and stars motif. I was a fan of Donovan's songs back in the 70's too. It was a time of great music. (Actually I have to correct myself here; I'd have first heard Donovan's songs in the late 60's. Been a fan of music so long the decades are running into one another, ha.) Feel free to join in on the conversations here. Lots to read about on the forum. PS: I have a guitar too, an Ovation I bought in the 80's. I don't get to play it as often as I wish I could, but most recently tried playing along with a few Cat Stevens songs a few months ago. It was fun, and though I'm not very good at it I find it's an enjoyable hobby for me. My guitar looks like the one in this picture:

Thank you. I added the stars myself....they are actually stick on fretboard markers (black mother of pearl effect). Absolutely agree....a time of great music. The music of The Beatles, Donovan, Cat Stevens are what got me into playing the acoustic guitar in the early 1970's. Also George Harrison was a big influence. Maybe our ear were spoilt with great music.......!
Yes, I'm working my way through the forum and it's really interesting!
I like your Ovation! I always liked that leaf design. I had one once myself but later sold it. They have quite a unique sound. They seemed very popular guitars in the 1970's.
