OKAY, This morning, I was FINALLY able to hear this BEAUTIFUL interview, using INTERNET EXPLORER, and I CRIED like a BIG BABY!! It was just SO BEAUTIFUL and brought ALL my emotions to the surface! I could JUST IMAGINE being one of those SCREAMING girls mobbing him at the airport! And you know: I thought just occurred to me! Is this when Cat was strip searched by customs officers! Man, I can JUST IMAGINE being strip searched in front of HUNDREDS of SCREAMING GIRLS! HMM, maybe I was there in another life! WHEW BOY!! ;D ;D
Now, I do have one quick question, and I would like to know if this happened with anyone else! At the very end of the interview, during ON THE ROAD TO FIND OUT, the song suddenly stopped playing midway through the song and went dead silent! But the clock was still counting for about another minute and a half!! Did I miss anything at the end! PLEASE! I MUST KNOW!! After all, I MUST hear EVERY SINGLE SECOND!!
Peace,Vivian

Lucy, Vivian, Ocaritas (other thread) and Sue (other thread), I'm happy you enjoyed the interview, I was excited that I was able to bring it to you, thanks to Jill.
Also the two accompanying articles were great.. can you imagine $6.60 to see a Cat concert? So does any one know how much $6.60 in Austalian money is in U.S. Dollars?

NOT ONE BIT, A'isha!! As I always said-a DRUG SEARCH was just a cover! The customs officer was a lady fan and just used that for an excuse!!

And Vivian, any lady would make up an excuse to get their hands on CAT. Love, A'isha

Coll and I were talking about how, over the years, Yusuf's accent has become a bit more refined - lost some of the 'street kid sound'. Not that the 'street kid sound' wasn't completely charming. Great interview.

Hi All, I've only just finished listening to the Radio program in its entirety and the first thing that struck me was its clarity. It ran from start to finish with no gaps or buffering whatsoever. This is the first time I've ever heard anything on Real Audio without those annoying muted bits. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. A big Thankyou to Jill for letting us all share her memorabilia & a big Thankyou to Christine for giving us fans this great vehicle (Majicat) to hear these rare clips. A very grateful Linda PS $6.60 Australian dollars equates to US$3.63 by today's exchange rate.

Vivi, try to listen to it in the morning. In the evening the web seems very congested and it takes 20 years to hear a five minute file. I tried that on Thursday morning and got to hear the entire thing without one 'net buffer' aggravation....a first.
Love, A'isha

I remember that radio program with Ian McCrae, it was very interesting. I used to have RealPlayer on an iMac computer way back in 2001. In that interview as Cat Stevens, there was some great music and they played all his old songs on it, but back in those early hey-days of his era, he wasn't a happy cat, especially after his album "Catch Bull At Four" which made No3 in the LP charts in 1972. I think that after the success of that album, he seemed to get further away from being a pop star. If anyone still has that documentary, please let me know, so that I can hear it once again.

But that was 37 years ago in 1972, when I was 10 years old, and 37 years today, we hear him now known as Yusuf. In those days Cat was rich, famous and handsome, and we all loved him, even for his bearded looks, those "Cat" dark eyes, which his girlfriend thought he had. The name was a strong zingy one that every female heart was fluttered during that decade, but what really lifted us was his voice, which was distinctively unique.
