Thanks LadyD, I'd love to hear more on this. It's nice to see Suzanne Lynch and Yusuf working on a project together again. I wonder if they ever pulled it off.

Hey this is a very cool little tidbit you found LadyD.
I did a 'crude' search on the title and didn't find anything. I'd love to hear Yusuf's message.
Thanks!!!

O.K...
I just checked Suzanne's website and no mention of this CD over there. I thought I could e-mail a question but there doesn't seem to be an e-mail link.
There is a phone number and fax number. Does anyone feel like calling Suzanne ?
"Ummm.... this is hummingbird, I'd like to speak to Suzanne please....Yes, that's right, hummingbird, I'm just calling about this CD I heard about ..." <CLICK>

Hi LadyD, Thanks for the heads-up. I've done some digging about & have tracked down the CD. It was released in November 2001. When I rang the CD stores here in NZ, they said it was deleted in June this year!! (I would have thought that they would have at least left it for another Christmas eh?)
Apart from the news item that LadyD posted, I don't think there was ANY publicity for this Xmas CD. I'm sure I would have seen it if there were. Anyway, I rang the NZ Red Cross, Royal Sun Alliance, Sony Music & finally Madant who very kindly sent me a copy. It is indeed the voice of YI opening the track with a monologue. Here are his words.
"Today, there's a growing sense for the need to heal the cuts on the wounded body of humanity. Out of the shadows of death, positive signs are arising — human beings banding together to help ease each others pain — helping to re-build not just the structures but the human spirit and in the process, learning more about our fellow man & knowing our neighbours.
….Yes, why must we go on hating? Why can't we live in bliss?"
Next follows the Christmas song.
I'm going to try to record this in Real (as a computer buff, I make a very good acrobat!!) & send it to Chris for the site.

Thanks for the update Linda with the NZ CD. Its a very nice introductory by Yusuf. It is a shame they didn't try promote the CD a little more.

Hi All, Well, I've recorded it on Real (I think, fingers crossed). Chris, the file is huge, it's 2.65 MB's. Can you let me know what's the best email account of yours to send it to please?
Some more info on it:
Opening monologue: Yusif Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) Feature Singers: Russell Harrison, Suzanne Lynch, Taisha Kuhtze, Hammond Gamble. Backing Vocals: James Gaylin Written By: Troy Sugrue, Tony Piggott, Dean Kerr and Bruce Lynch (copyright control) Executive Producers: Tony Piggott & Troy Sugrue Producer, Arrangements & Programming: Bruce Lynch Nylon Guitar: Dean Kerr Strings: Auckland Philharmonia Mastering: Uptown Studios
Nice to see Bruce Lynch's name there eh?
Will I be transgressing some sort of copyright laws?

Hey, I gave that song a listen and really liked it. Kind of Joan Baez-like. Thanks Lady Dee.
Has anyone heard the clip that Yusuf narrated yet?

Geez, how did I get involved in all this??? <g> You're right though, LadyD, the song is great. I heard the clip some time ago when you mentioned it, but the whole song sounds better. I like her voice & the simple guitar accompaniment. Reminds me of early Joni Mitchell. I hope her CD will be available here in the US when it comes out.

Has Suzanne Lynch recorded any cd's? I know her and Bruce's son is in a successful band called ZED. I wondered if she has done anything lately.
