Hello!
My name is Sanna (from Susanne). I'm 42, and I live in Germany. Using a computer is still something quite new for me, and I discovered Majicat only a few months ago - what a beautiful, appealing and imaginative website! It really fits Cat's/ Yusuf's songs.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you!

Welcome, Sanna,
You've discovered the best Cat Stevens site on the Net. Like Chris says, it's great to hear there are fans from so many different countries. It's a very friendly place on the Message boards, and I'm sure we all look forward to your contributions.

Sanna were you ever fortunate enough to see Cat in concert in Frankfurt? Or see Cat when he appeared on the Disco Program over there in 1976?

Hi Christine, hi A'isha,
Thanks a lot for your nice welcome, too!
Unfortunately I never saw Cat live on stage! As I became a fan only in 1979, I'm sorry to say that I missed all his concerts. But quite coincidentally "Disco" (April 1976) was repeated on TV in March. Cat was wonderful! Sadly enough he sang only two of his songs - "Morning has Broken" and "Banapple Gas" - accompanied by Jean Roussel on grand piano. Cat was very good-looking, of course, very cute, and also very shy. Maybe he had already begun to feel quite uneasy about being a celebrated star at that time.
In 1994 or '95 he came to Germany to be Thomas Gottschalk's guest in his "Late Night Show Special". Wearing his Muslim clothing, Yusuf was talking about his new plans and projects, and although so many things had changed, his charisma was still the same!
Love, Sanna

I'm happy you were able to watch it in March! It's nice to see they are repeating some of Cats old concerts or tidbits in music programs. They really should get all these little bits and pieces, like your Disco Program, the piece I remember from either SNL or Midnight Special, Granada and place them all together on a DVD. That would make a nice Christmas or Ramadan present for all of us. Sanna did you notice how color co-ordinated cat was in the Disco show? Red t-shirt, black or navy pants (trousers), and lime green shoe boots? YOWSERS!! Those shoes really stood out. OK just teasing, but I do love to see what he is wearing. One of these days, I may even finish that fashion page which I started last year, yes it is started, I just haven't finished it yet.

Christine, Yes, the colours were very impressive! It seems that Cat had a special liking for primary colours in 1976/77 - the red t-shirt, the yellowish guitar and the blue velvet pants. They were his favourite ones, I guess. He wears them on a photo, probably taken in '72. Then, as a frame, black (the black parts of his guitar) and white (his boot-laces and soles) and finally - those green gumboots! Jean Roussel's shirt combined all these colours and also Cat's tour poster, faded in during this program, showed them, except for green, just like the cover of "Izitso" one year later.
A fashion page would really be fascinating!
